I'm the same in my late 20's, there's just too much new music out these days so it's hard to keep up. It's closed minded but I'm happy enough to listen to the stuff I grew up with and little else. I read an article online that it's quite normal as you grow older, it's something to do with your brain
Why Old People Don’t Like New Music

In some ways I'm happy to be out of the loop in my own little bubble though, ignorance is bliss as they say.

It takes my computer ages to load pages full of videos so I haven't seen the previous pages. If this has already been posted, apologies

Ive tried my hardest to get in to grime and listened to more recent US hip Hop, and other than Kendrick, I just cant get in to it. I think the 90s were an incredible decade for rap, the best by a country fckin mile

Agree with a lot of that.

For me, Kano is probably the best MC in this country.

The whole of AJT's album is banging, Butterflies being the best I think.

Lot's of good things happening to grime right now, never known such a buzz about it than when Dave got that young Alex up on stage at Glasto.

Sad news that uk rapper TY has past away. Looks like it's covid 19 related. Real shame he made some cool music and was definitely a regular in my cd player some years back. Rip

The best hip-hop albums of all time were already released in the '80s and '90s.

Great to see you back on here @WARP

Anyway, I'm not a huge Drill fan as a rule; but it genuinely seems like a few songs coming out atm are getting dangerosly close to almost sounding like they could do well commerically. The Tion Wayne/Dutchavelli/Stormzy track being the most obvious example but Kwengface has been dropping some fire lately. If you ignore the lyrical content of his songs, his verse on No Censor & the fact there isn't a venue in the country who'd book him then he could genuinely have ended up getting a lot of mainstream attention.

Took a while to grow on me but I’m fully on board with it now, f*cking brilliant album. El-P may genuinely be the best producer in the game.

I know drill isn’t for everyone but Unknown T dropping his debut album next week.

His work rate has been crazy since he beat that murder case. Quite looking forward to hearing a full project from him.
