OMG why haven't i noticed this thread before. Just had a very quick flip through and the talent on here is superb. Its always one thing iv'e thought about getting into but never got round to it. A very enjoyable place by the looks of it.Excellent.
A friend of mine asked me to photograph the bridge at night if I was ever in the area with my camera handy, so I nipped to take these photos from a number of angles and have been impressed how they've come out as I've never really photographed in this light before. I had to use a tripod that I normally use for video recording football matches. What do you think?
That bottom one is a really good photo, love the glow. I saw that bridge the other day in a Vodafone (I think it was) billboard.

Some great pictures there TLC. My dad has the 7D too and it really tests your abilities being fully manual. With other bodies it's so easy to stick to the pre-set modes such as 'landscape', 'sports', 'portrait' etc. I confess to using these on my 600D but I'm now dipping my toe in the water and playing around with both the Aperture Priority and the Shutter Priority. Next step is to then use the full manual modes! Some of mine, all taken with the 600D; 50mm f1.4 prime lens;
And my latest, and final!, acquisition... the "70-200mm f4 USM L" lens. These pictures were taken last month at the Paradise Wildlife Park in Broxbourne, Herts.
Sorry there are so many on this next set of pictures (also taken with the 70-200mm f4 USM L lens) but when I uploaded it onto a QPR forum, it was easier to put them all on one file rather than lots of singular ones. They were taken on the last day of the season at home to Newcastle. I managed to get both penalties. The first one was slightly fuzzy due to having a circular polarising filter on and I didn't have the correct settings so I took it off for the rest. Thanks! The tree was taken about 8:45 am on a chilly November morning last year as me and my girlfriend walked the dog. About 20 mins later the sun was burning all the frost away so glad to get some good ones while it was still frosty. The gorilla was at Paignton Zoo a couple of months ago. Me and the gorilla were literally looking at each other eye-to-eye. Amazing experience.
Just from a bridge camera I took to Marwell (yesterday) - nothing special in terms of skill plus nothing edited but I had a good time
