This is a level of materialism to which I can’t relate. I usually have one relatively cheap pair of trainers that I wear until they fall apart.
Bought these last week. Were on sale for 36 quid and free delivery. I like my Adidas trainers but these are most comfortable pair of trainers I've ever wore.
It’s symptomatic of the sickness we have in modern society. We are brainwashed into coveting materialistic things, whether that be trainers, phones, cars etc, which will never bring fulfillment or lasting satisfaction. We seek external pleasures and validation which distract us from the things that really matter, and from developing our internal world and connecting to God. Also, the fact most of these branded trainers are produced in sweatshops where third world workers are terribly exploited, and then people collect these things and show them off, is pretty disgusting on a moral level.
I rate Bally shoes, think I’m on my 6th or 7th pair now, being a big footed **** they are the only smart shoe brand who tailor to my feet size . I have the grey/red equivalent of those and the navy/light blue. Tend to pick mine up at the airport or at Bicester on the way down south though, just went through Doha airport and they had them for £120~ ish. Bargain tbf.
Vans make the most comfortable trainers out of anyone imo. Skechers come close, and Clarks used to make comfy trainers (but they aren't as good anymore).
Yeah I've got about five pairs myself now ,not particularly fussy on the latest style and shape but love the leather Gavino's .
Latest trainers I've bought, easily the comfiest trainers I've had on my plates since my Adidas Zelda.
Best trainers ever, and what I've been wearing in various guises since the early to mid 80s. I see half the shite the younger generation wear these days and it makes me cringe. It's almost as if there is a competition they're out to win for the most stupid looking footwear. And the money some of it costs. Ridiculous. I know, I sound old.
I had a great pair of trainers once, ****ing adored them. But lost them and just couldn't find them anywhere again - forgot the brand now. Since then I've basically just stuck with low top Converse. White or black.
I agree ,there's some truly hideous trainers out there and the more outlandish they look the higher the price. Madness Prime example below, a tenner short of 500 rips. Without the Dsquared2 tag they look like something your mum would have made you wear when you were 9.
My daughter's boyfriend is obsessed with trainers and has something like 150 pairs. He gave my 13 year old son a pair he bought in America for $350 and had barely worn. Yeezeez or something. They looked f**king ridiculous but my son loved them.
