Pretty much my trainer of choice, not the black leather ones though, nearly always blue but had grey and red over years.

I’ve pretty much completely stopped buying adidas and sold a load of my city series as it’s become a uniform and is played out.

Last pair of trainers I got were these Diadoras

Diadora S8000 Overland Trainers Beige Mortar

But I’m usually buying things like Fracap boots now as it’s something a bit different

I wear skate shoes mainly, they are so comfortable.

Nike sb blazers, Etnies eco Jameson’s and Vans. I also have a pair of Doc martens but Jesus Christ, they’re heavy.

    Yeah, I am.

The shoes you wear, you’re a senior figure in creative industry?

The shoes and clothes I wear say more about the years and years of terrace culture that’s influenced me than any job ;)

Sambas must’ve been popular for people who attended games in the late 70’s/80’s as my old man wears them religiously won’t wear anything else.

Easy to buy for for birthdays and Christmas, if I can find a size 13!

My dad is the same, although you can get away with 3 or 4 different styles. Spezials are his current favourite.

You'd struggle to find anyone who grew up in the 70s/80s who didn't own a pair of Samba, Bamba, Mamba, Kick (the cheap option) or Gazelles to be honest.

Like these. You've inspired me Frannie! Just sourcing them online here. Looks like its best getting them direct from Diadora ES. Need a new pair as the last ones I bought were pre pandemic from SVD, Asics GelLyte3 monochromes and some Dolce's direct

Mine only wears black sambas that’s it. We got him the navy suede ones a few years back and he wore them only a few times as he says one trip in the rain and they’re ruined.

I asked him about this earlier and he said he also used to wear Stan Smiths but they were so expensive he only had one pair and then they stopped making them in 12+ sizes!

One of the reasons i went through a phase of buying loads of the adidas re-releases is cause i couldn't afford them first time round, i used to wear my gazelles and sambas till they had holes in the toes from playing football in them and the dye had all washed out (back then if rained the dye went into your socks)
