Thought he was doing well at? Imagine someone will pick him up mid-lower end of table. Don’t think he’s good enough if you’re going for promotion. Bit of a mardarse on pitch at times.
Hasn't lost that part of his game at all to be fair to him. 40 appearances for us this seaaon. Hardly ever injured and can still run for a full 90mins in a box to box role. It probably will go at some point over the next couple of years admittedly, but right now he's as fit as a fiddle. I'd be surprised tbh, but you never know. Shots are well located to be fair, you might well be able to tempt him with the bright lights of London (or rather being relatively well connected to it). I just think it's probably more likely that he goes back to Hartlepool or perhaps York. Plenty of recent transfer links with both those clubs on our side. With the money they've been slinging around too, I wonder if Scunny will have a pop at persuading him to drop two levels. He lives in/near Hull and seems settled from everything you hear.
Humberside is his area it's why he jumped at a 2 year deal with Grimsby, can't see him coming back here, Scunny move wouldn't be out of the question maybe
Paul McCallum rumoured to be our top target. Year left on his contract, but apparently keen on the move. If we lose any of our current squad, it will be for fees incoming, so hopefully will be an interesting summer after Ron has gone hopefully.
Will be amazed if York go for him,Hunt being told he can find another club would be fantastic though.
You’re going to need to pay him £3k a week if you want to lure him away, that’s over 10% of your budget if the other Southend chap is correct with your budget reduction. Also he moaned about his commute when with us so another hour on top of that you’ll might need to pay even more.
You could be right. Although he will no doubt be a big part of the wage budget, as has been said elsewhere, If we get financially sorted over the next few weeks, and it's still an if ATM, part of the negotiations will hinge around bonus payments for goals and finishing place, as well as one of the last possible chances he will have to play in the league again, if the league also is as weak as it appears compared to previous seasons. Also, the pull of playing in front of one of the largest home crowds and biggest away followings for once in his career. So there will be plenty of place for negotiation and there is a long summer ahead........
Might well happen. Has he been decent for you then? I thought I'd read that he'd started well but that his performances had dropped off, was that not the case?
His first performance he was hooked at HT but we were getting battered at Barnet way which was Ardleys last game (Mr negative). Hinshelwood took over, got us attacking and Hunt was instrumental alongside Marvin Armstrong in getting us safe. Would love us to make an offer for him
I reckon there's a good chance we'd let him go. He's probably on a fair whack here though considering we bought him off Wednesday and gave him a three year deal. Just hasn't worked out for him at BP unfortunately.
Yeah I thought he'd cost a bit, didn't you lot spend 100k on him? He's a classy player and will get better
Reckon his debut was one of worst ever seen then didn’t play again until after the Altrincham battering. Him and Armstrong was the main reason we stayed up.
