Thread to talk about games that are announced that you are hyped for. For me GOW Ragnarok Hogwarts Legacy (loved the books and movies as a kid and recently had a lot of fun playing the lego HP games) Recently announced collection of Yakuza/Like a Dragon games (3 in total with a remake/remaster of a Japanese exclusive, new game based on main character in first part of series and the 8th installment which will include both main characters)
I’m looking forward to Beyond Good & Evil 2 if it actually drops. Pretty excited they made a sequel to a game that it appears only I’ve played.
God of war is the only one I’m really hyped for. I may play forbidden west before it comes out but I need a break from my PS after months of Elden ring.
This will likely stand out like a sore thumb but Victoria 3 - the successor to the greatest grand strategy game to have ever existed. Victoria 2. Out on October 25. I'm so excited about it that I remember its release date.
The Victoria games are too complicated for me. Total War and Stellaris are about as advanced as I get.
I understand why you'd say that and I don't agree with it completely but that's besides the point now with Victoria 3 soon to be released - Crusader Kings 3 has a simplified gameloop and was excellent at explaining the basic gameloop to both new and even old players. I'm 99% confident that the new Victoria 3 game will be similar in both simplifying the gameloop and explaining the basic gameloop to both old and new players. I'd say give it a shot, or if its too intimidating, give Crusader Kings 3 a shot before moving onto Victoria 3.
@PorkchopExpress - Paradox have started uploading quick/fairly easy (at least if you have the game open) to understand tutorials for Victoria 3.
Starfield looks amazing. If it gets good reviews the first few weeks I will look to get myself an Xbox for Christmas.
Not sure if it's me not into Gaming anymore or if there is a lack of new games but nothing out there. Massive Metal gear fan and remakes are being talked about but I'll likely be buying as a collector of them. Got a bit bored of Gran Turismo 7. Grand Theft Auto is due next year which I'll likely play and Undisputed likely to be released next year too. I wonder what EA Sports will do Football wise. But right now, nothing for me.
Starfield's showcase genuinely surprised me. It felt confident and the game actually looked interesting, not what I was expecting after their recent average and bad Fallout games. Cyberpunk 2077's expansion is coming soon, am looking forward to that. Seems there's going to be a genuine upgrade patch as well as the new story stuff so that'll be worth a second playthrough. Cities: Skylines 2 There are a couple of Yakuza games coming out over the next year, that franchise is always a day 1 purchase for me. As well as those Path of Exile 2 is coming out next year (hopefully) and I'm expecting a Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 announcement any minute now (cope).
Still not gotten round to playing the remake of Ishin but will do soon. Also looking forward to the next main game with the return of Kiryu. Wonder if they are going to go back to traditional gameplay or split it and have that for Kiryu and turn based rpg style for Ichiban.
Surprised by the GTA one but God knows they have had long enough to make it so hope it is true. Undisputed should definitely be next year but seems the early access still has a lot of work that needs doing to gameplay from what I read. Plenty of bugs and stuff to fix/improve.
I cannot wait for Skylines 2. Hope it doesn't turn out to be a disappointment like Victoria 3 was though. And have you heard something about Kingdom Come or is it just wishful thinking? Would love a Kingdom Come sequel.
It's wishful thinking but it's also an open secret that it's been in development for quite a while now. They've been expanding the staff at their studio quite significantly and one of the actor's talent agencies leaked that their actor was playing a character in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. I would imagine that a lot of the pre-planning/writing was done for the game during the DLC cycle of the first game which would mean it's probably been in full development for around 4 years now. Whilst the game did do well it's obviously expensive to make games and it's not like Warhorse have an infinite money glitch like Rockstar and GTA Online to allow them the comfort of releasing 1 game a millennium. In regards to Cities I'm wary of anything Paradox publish too. It'll almost certainly have features stripped out and then sold as DLC in a few months time. I hadn't considered that they could use both combat styles but it could work depending on how the narrative is structured. I do hope it's just a pure turn based game though as the first one was just so good. I'm hoping that the action combat games going forward are the Judgement franchise. I think the combat in those is probably peak RGG.
GTA have been like this for years but I guess because Gaming has gone up so many levels, it was always going to be difficult to keep production going in yearly turnarounds. Undisputed was early access and I see so many comments about it being buggy and rubbish. It's just a demo and work in progress!!! Some of the comments are just laughable. The one concern I have seen with Undisputed (when it was Esports Boxing Club) was the early videos were absolutely stunning but the early access is way below that? I'm presuming the finished article will look like the early videos.
I’m looking forward to Assassins Creed Mirage. I read that it’s a shorter game than Valhalla so hoping it’s good and flows well.
