You've been hanging around these forums long enough to know this ridiculous logic gets used all the time.

Yeah, but it doesn't make it any less ridiculous an argument.

players will do what ever they get away with

I question Oliver's version of Refeering, clear view of Costa stamping on Cans ankle, and nothing, what made this incident worse, is Dowd, this incident was right in front of him, and he did nothing, what good is a 4th "official"? If they won't apply rules

    Dowd is shit.

Some on here were claiming otherwise but he was shit as far back as ten years ago and still is.

You in particular must have been pretty devastated about that!

Tbh the Chelsea performance was what's bound to happen given how we've played for quite a while now. We're very profligate in front of goal with 3 midfielders up front and no Sturridge; we struggle to score when we create a hatful of chances at Anfield, never mind away and against a Mourinho side! Fair play to Chelsea (except Costa who's a prick).

The whole shape of the team went when Sakho went off, it was clear to see. Once he went off, Chelsea got more and more into the game, and that's when they started to create there chances which brought some great saves for Mignolet. Hope that Sakho isn't out for too long because he was starting to get a good run in the side, and proved that he is a good defender in his run.

Did we deserve to go out? No. But Chelsea did what they had to do, both teams deserved to go through, to be honest, it was a flip of a coin who was going to go, and for 2 mistakes punished knocks us out. Balotelli made two big big mistakes last night, and that's why we're going home with nothing, he gives the ball away that makes Lucas make that challenge, then he let's Ivanovic have the free header that led to the only goal.

The substitutions was all wrong from Rodgers, I can see why Lambert was brought on, to try shuffle up front, but he did nothing, he didn't even alter the ball path in the 15 minutes he was on, Lallana was the better option as he had more of a creative spark.

Well, we've still got the FA Cup, but we got a tough tie next week against Bolton, and if we get through, a tough away game at Palace, who are very well in form now.

Can should have been booked for kicking the ball away for a start. Costa then steps on his foot (accidentally or not) and Can writhes around as if he's been shot - a complete overreaction or "simulation" as they call it these days - also a booking offence. So actually there's a solid case for Can to be sent off for that incident. The fact it didn't happen, coupled with the fact Chelsea were not given a glaring penalty shows how lucky Liverpool were to get away with a 1-0 defeat.

By the way I was going to matches at Stamford Bridge when you were still in short pants.

Liverpool were also lucky to get away with a few 2nd bookable offences. Not to mention the standard red for Gerrard leading with his head and Markovic attacking Filipe twice. All in all, 4/5 red cards Liverpool escaped?

Oh well. On to Wembley for us at the end of the day.

Costa gets sent off for the stamp & the whole game is different so our players indiscretions are irrelevant. & we know he should have been sent off cos he's missing the City game cos of it.

To me, it doesn't really matter but I am just wondering what happens with Costa? He should technically have two violent conduct charges from the League Cup game, and if he does get charged twice, is it equivalent to getting two red cards?
I know he has only been charged with one, but I was just curious.
