To be honest, I’d say the distance dilutes the feeling, you feel shit at the Match and probably for the rest of the Week but you don’t have dread of going into work that 1st time after a defeat.
You also don’t have to worry about bumping into a group of them on any given weekend in Town (even when the season isn’t on) and the Violence that could bring.

I’m not knocking the magnitude of your Derby at all, just questioning that distance adds to it.

On Another site I saw the results and attendances for the Easter weekend in 1980.
Back when lots of Derbies were played on the same days (Generally Easter and Boxing Day)
    Amongst other Matches
    Top Tier
    Man Utd v Liverpool
    Norwich v Ipswich
    2nd Tier
    Sunderland v Newcastle
    3rd Tier
    Sheffield Utd v Sheff Wed.

The second Biggest attendance in the whole country was at Bramall lane to watch a 3rd Division Match, nearly 100k saw both Sheffield Derbies that season.
The North East Derby had the 3rd Largest attendance in the country for a 2nd Division Match.
Not sure where the East Anglian ranked in Attendances that day.
The thing is though, to everyone, Their Derby is the most Importantly and the best, no matter what Division you’re in or the attendance.

Besides that, we can’t afford to lose Today, 3 pts gives us a real chance, a point still just about in there, a Loss and it’d be the Final nail in the coffin imo.
Not very optimistic about it TBH but please C’Mon Wednesday. UTO!!

    Never in doubt.

I believe our record derby attendance was around 40k back in the early 60s. Reckon there's a decent chance of that being 90k before the end of this season.

Of course you could add the populations of Norwich and Ipswich together, double it and then be competing with the population of Sheffield.

Pretty open, even game. We should have had a penalty though -- Hudds penalty has clearly blocked Obafemi's effort with his hand. Oh well. Wind making it very difficult for both sides.

Oh I cannot wait for this Sport Republic chapter in our history to be over. Another woeful appointment from them. That is comfortably the most boring game of football I've ever witnessed with a shite atmosphere to go with it. It felt like a pre-season friendly.

Gutted. My stream was abysmal so gave up after 10 minutes. Looks like I missed a decent game and performance from us :(

2-2. Mixed feelings from that. Enough clear cut chances to be 3-0 up in the first half, go two down then come back for a point.

Need to improve the finishing but at least there's some fight in them.

Lots of effort and desire from both but no quality .

    Defences very much on top.

We were made to look pretty lightweight and they marked Dennis out of the game well

Massive win which should be a big confidence boost but we will have to play better than that to stay up. Bit more ambition from Millwall it might of gone the other way.
