Oh god. Our stream kept cutting out so didn’t see goal or our first disallowed one. Sounds like it might be for best! Didn’t think our 2nd was offside. Stream was so bad we didn’t realise Curtis had replaced Quigley so early on - was he any good? Hasn’t looked good enough what I’ve seen of him. Can’t see us getting anymore points tbh. Shame such a great season is ending on a whimper.
Ironically you’d do a lot better than either Halifax or ourselves would. I genuinely wouldn’t write it off, we aren’t getting another point this season so it depends if you can beat Halifax
Something very funny about Halifax and Aldershot fans being all doom and gloom while they sit in 7th and 9th respectively
Definitely! So pull your fingers out Halifax/Aldershot (ironically could be our own fault winning today if we lose to you in the final or such)
So a win on Tuesday means Oldham and Southend can't catch us and Aldershot clinging on by there finger tips. Seems a reasonable time to throw in another Halifax (how to throw this away moment)
It’s really starting to take the shine off the season for me. The Players haven’t been anywhere near on it for two months now at least. Today wasn’t fun watching us pass it sideways for 80 minutes and then present Wealdstone with the obligatory free goal. Gateshead won’t be worried about us on that poor performance.
Yes, well, can’t speak for Halifax fans, but Shots are now utter dross. Good on Southend if they pinch a playoff spot. I’ve had enough.
Yeah, I get that, I’d probably be saying the exact same thing if it was, say, Maidenhead and Fylde in 7th and 9th. However, if you’d have seen us this season, on our day we can beat anyone in this league and we’ve genuinely been so good at times. Up until 6 games ago we were flying - beat Oldham and Ebbsfleet at home and had our sights on Bromley in 3rd. But it’s like someone’s flicked a switch and our team have a) forgotten how to defend b) forgotten how to attack and c) lost interest. Tonight was a complete shambles and I think everyone knew, on and off the pitch, that we’ve blown it. No idea where it’s gone so wrong but the spirit and excitement from this team literally disappeared overnight and Widdrington hasn’t got the temperament or managerial skills to stop the rot.
Jamie Grimes didn’t know where Tyrer was, so passed it closer to Dillon De Silva who was able to score into an open goal. First disallowed goal rightfully called off, Dewhurst had both hands on the ball. Second one, absolutely no idea, with that and Dewhurst’s definite handball not long after we scored, the team got a couple of breaks today.
That was the drawiest draw of all time, both teams had their feet entrenched in the sand this afternoon.
Pissed as a fart yesterday but I thought they all looked good, they all play without fear and put some of the first teamers to shame, Darcy Campbell the pick of the bunch when he came on, class seeing youth players breaking through into first team's nothing like it. I'd start them on Saturday at Dorking, Campbell at RB, Storey in at CM, Stephenson further forward in the Grey role and maybe give Alfie Steel a 2nd half run out, they're relegated, we've nothing to lose and they've valuable experience to gain.
For me this is the highlight of the season the amount of good young players coming through. Actually a good decision from the club (for a change) to keep the academy open when they could easily have shut it down like in our first spell here.
