Asset stripping is exactly what it is, I doubt Reading FC will see much of those funds raised from the sale of the training ground, Dai will pocket that while the club are probably left to rent from whoever buys it, if they’re lucky.

Lets be honest who is going to buy a football training ground? There is only one team around who can use it and they are in no position to pay rent and may not be around long term to continue using it.

So you may be thinking that it is prime land that a developer would love to get their hands on to build houses in one of the most expensive areas of the country. But there is a snag. The training ground is built on historical land, part of the greater Bearwood Park, which one of the heritage groups have some control over (might be English Heritage, but not certain). It also contains listed buildings. There is pretty much zero chance of any further development being allowed on the land.

So it really doesn't have much value to an outside entity buying it, and there won't be a queue of people.

However John Madejski did visit the training ground for the first time last week......and he would have an interest if it meant helping save the club as he still feels guilty about starting this chain of events off by selling to the Russians.

So the club would still have to rent.

Most likely what will happen, is what happened to us. Dai can’t get rid lock, stock and barrel so will just sell the football club whilst keeping hold of the assets. Not a great place to be.

Absolutely devastated by the latest updates regarding the shortfall this month of £1million. We have to raise the money or there is a very real possibility of this being the end of our club. We are the oldest professional football club in the South of England, over 152 years of community history could be destroyed by just one man.

I'm really sorry to come across as somewhat of a begging individual, especially given the current cost of living crisis but our fanbase/protest groups have set up an official donation page to help raise money to save the club so if any football fan could help in some way and donate to the cause we'd be so forever grateful. I'm sure supporters of other clubs feel exactly the same way about their clubs as I do mine, it is a part of you, like a familiar friend to help take your mind off the day to day troubles of normal life. The true comprehension of losing it for good is beyond sickening. Dai Yongge has killed two other clubs already please don't let us be the hattrick. I've been a passionate home and away supporter and season ticket holder for 25 years and I am just doing what I can to save us from absolute oblivion. I owe it to the generations of Reading supporters no longer with us and so that future generations can continue to support this great old club of ours.

Thank you in advance fellow Football Fans.

As our football chant goes "You are my Reading, my only Reading, you make me happy when skies are grey, when skies are grey, you'll never notice how much I love you, so please don't take my Reading away"

It's John Madejski, it is likely if he did buy it that he would only charge a nominal rent or no rent at all, and then sell it to the next owners if there are any. Like I said he feels guilty that he started this chain of events off and he still loves the club.

Apparently the cost is somewhere between £22m to £25m. Not sure how Wycombe can afford that and they certainly couldn't afford the upkeep of such a large facility (that has been part of our financial issues - it costs a fortune to run).

A statement is due at 9.30.

Also a protest is planned outside Adams Park tomorrow evening. All fans welcome to attend (6pm I think). This isn't just a protest aimed at Wycombe, but football ownership in general.

I don't know why that would happen as we have spent a lot of money on updating our training ground in Marlow Road.

Your owner is buying it, letting the value of the club drop, get a sale done and then selling it back to us for the same price, maybe with a tiny mark up for his efforts.

    Legend.

I just read that in The Bucks Free Press and if Reading couldn't find a buyer the club would go tits up which i would hate that to happen, also Reading asked us to buy it so we're not the vultures we have been accused of by some on here.

Let's correct something here. Reading FC didn't ask you to buy it, our crooked owner did. He does not have the best interest of Reading FC at heart, only his own. He has already liquidated two clubs. He does not care.

If WWFC buy it for their own use at a discounted price, then yes they are vultures and deserve to be known as such. If they are doing to provide short term funding to us, for it then to be returned to our ownership when we are able to, then I would applaud the generosity and what you did for us would be forever remembered by the fans.

Trust me we don't have anywhere near £25M in the bank to buy it,from what i've seen a Georgian (The country not the American state) businessman who was going to invest in Wycombe but it seems he's pulled out is now looking to invest in Reading instead.

Well the Wycombe statement confirms you are buying it for your own use. The "vultures" comment stands.

The potential buyer of the club who was moving towards exclusivity has pulled out as a result of the training ground not being included. There is nothing about this that says Wycombe are trying to help us out. You are only helping yourselves and Dai Youngge.

Like i keep saying we haven't got the money to buy it so it must be the mega rich Lomtadze who's buying it not our American owner Rob Couhig so f*ck knows what's going on.
