Hilarious adaptation of Nick Hornby's novel about a 30 something record shop owner who's had a turbulent love life and, after his most recent break up with his girlfriend of several years, embarks on a personal voyage to find out why this is happening. Great writing, great soundtrack and a brilliant central performance from Cusack.
Anchorman 2 : The Legend Continues - 7.5/10 Not as good as the first one, but still plenty of laughs.
New Kids Turbo (2010) Over the top dutch movie. One of those scatological comedies that get churned out - although this one has some pythonesque moments that make it worth seeing. It's all pretty vapid, but if you're in a juvenile mood (as I was) it should provide some laughs.
I have Amazon Prime, and have only just noticed that means I get to stream films for free. Tonight I watched: Blood Glacier (AKA: The Station). It's a dutch film, and borrows liberally from John Carpenter's The Thing. if you can look passed this it's a fun little monster flick, with old school FX. I enjoyed it.
I've not seen so many people walk out of a film as they did this evening in a long time. I did at least stay to the end.
The Expendables (2010) What a pile of crap this was but i should have known with the cast what it would be like! 3/10.
I loved it. Mindless action, but virtually all of my childhood action heroes together in one film! Yet to see the 2nd though.
Open Grave - 7.5/10 I wasn't too impressed from what was shown in the trailer I saw on YouTube, but I thought I'd give it a go since Sharlto Copley is in it. Turned out to be much better than I expected it to be. It wasn't a scary horror, but it was dark, suspenseful and gripping. Acting was good too.
