Did you have plans and had to rearrange? Are you avoiding travel at all costs? I’ve rearranged our August Spain trip to next June. Wasn’t going to pay a lot for a restricted holiday. I’ll keep an eye on how things go over here and there how about you ?
I’m in Belgium now, my Mrs family live over here and due to a fairly challenging circumstance she got stuck over here so I drove over so that I can bring her back in a few weeks. Bars and restaurants all open, people behaving with common sense and everything feels ‘normal’ - no chance it’d be that smooth in the UK .
Now, wouldn't bother me at all. I'm not going on holiday this summer, saving my money for next May on Crete, but if I had the spare cash I'd fly tomorrow, no worries.
Same in Germany, everything is same as ever here, we're really starting to ask if the fuss was really neccessary.
Not what I'm seeing. I haven't had it, I don't know anyone who had it, I don't know anyone who knows anyone who has had it, ad infinitum. I'm not a conspiracy theorist, yes of course there is a virus, but this was a huge overreaction, flu is still killing far more people but life goes on.
It’s weird as I thought I wouldn’t know anyone who had it , then my son contracted it .. he’s the only one I know although I know of his residents in the home have it now. Seems to have been a breeding ground, care homes. I only didn’t want to travel in August because of the little ones. I think I’d travel now if it was just us, and I wouldn’t spend much due to a restricted time but an apartment in Spain, socially distancing with everyone else, sounds pretty good just now
Quarantine rules in other countries depending. I would be happy to travel, as long as the place I was going to wasn't on a serious lockdown. If flights are going to stay empty, and locations aren't going to be as busy... I cannot think of a better time to travel.
Not my experience last week. But admittedly that could be the case in some instances, deals are always there to be found though. On this, I had wanted to go to Marseille this summer and I think I may look into pushing for it towards the back end of summer if it makes sense.
I reckon planes trains and coaches will be spreading hot spots. In the air con. Other than the floor extractor fans had more covid droplets than anywhere else in a study on rooms catering for victims.
We went to Lanzarote in March and were surprised we weren't tested or even looked at twice when we flew back in, so we've had a holiday fairly recently and the holiday bug won't bite for a bit yet. I'd have no problem going anywhere, but I wouldn't want to be paying high prices so would probably be saying no if we had plans.
Same.. we flew into Stansted from Tenerife on 29th February and there had been a hotel in lockdown as an Italian doctor had tested positive, on the island. It’s things like that I can’t believe we’re able to slip the net
Indeed, it was ridiculous. We went on that same weekend and came back a week later. All they'd done at Bristol airport at the time was put the "catch it, bin it, kill it" signs up as if it was some form of "that'll do" measure. Not a peep of it when we were abroad, at the time there hadn't been a confirmed case in Lanzarote so it was very much business as usual.
The virus incubation farms that were airports and international flights before Covid 19 were bad enough. We'll certainly be planning nothing involving flights until next year and hoping that a vaccine will be available by then. Our trips are usually off the beaten track and I always used to try to put potential infections to the back of my mind but do what I could to boost the immune system. Still often picked up a bug at some stage - usually on the way home, when worn out and with defences down.. Hopefully the general precautions triggered by the pandemic will have wider benefits. I'll certainly be more careful and keep up the hand hygeine etc. Thank heavens we'd dropped our planned September Brazil Odyssey on the grounds of cost and had just decided to not make flight bookings/payments, etc just before lockdown loomed. Brazilian cities must be high on the avoid list of most folk by now.
Depends where your travelling to. If countries start to get to the levels New Zealand are at in terms of controlling the virus, I wouldn't have any problems travelling there at all now, provided I didn't have to quarantine on arrival.
