simple thread , simply post where and when was your first away match that you went to?

mine was Blackburn away in 2006 , we won 1-0 via a Campo header and Jussi saved two pens.

Away to Stoke, 1980s. Sat in the Butler Street stand, wooden floor and wooden benches seemed archaic (and a bit scary just after the Bradford fire). Remember it being quite expensive (something like £6 no concessions - I remember walking round to the entrances to the "home" seating area with my father but no concessions there either). Decent Shrews away following but Stoke were on the down at the time and the ground seemed big and empty. Locked in for about 20 minutes after the game.

Think mine maybe have been Stoke too, 2001 play off fixture - can't remember anything but my dad said we went along with several thousand other Saddlers.

First one I seem to remember bits from is Charlton away in the FA Cup, 03, another sell out, remember it being pitch black in the away section, and the green grass catching my eye.

New Years Day a few years back at Villa Park.

Either a Christmas or birthday (birthday on the 2nd of Jan) present for my dad. 'Restricted view' but I thought sure, it'll be fine.
Restricted view was an understatement

Wish I'd got a picture of my seat just to highlight how bad my view was. Top row, far right corner, upper tier (standing meant you had the top of the tier obstructing the view a little) and I had a pole supporting the stand in front of my seat to boot. Couldn't fooking believe it

Atmosphere was fantastic though and made watching Spurs even more enjoyable.

    The ticket was £30.

That was five years ago mind so no idea how much it'd be now.

Away to Southampton in 01-02. Our first trip to St. Mary's and it was a 3-3 draw. Marcus Stewart scored twice and Mark Venus scored a 35 yard thunderbolt.

A few weeks later I went to Helsingbourgs and then Inter Milan in the UEFA Cup.

Wow, remember that game far too well. I think it was Benny McCarthy and Jason Roberts who took perhaps the poorest penalties I've seen. Mine was Chelsea back in 2003. Won 2-1. Great game for us.

Derby away in the 2000/01 season AKA the season we went down from the Prem.

Lost 1-0, terrible match and some drunken ar*ehole decided to pick a fight with my Dad after he himself had put his foot through a seat in front!

QPR in about 2003. Went up on the train from Brighton (where I lived at the time). There was a massive away following and we lost 1-0 to a penalty that they scored in the first few minutes of the game.
