Arsenal Saints 1986/87 season for me, was a christmas present for me to go, we lost 1-0 and my years of watching us lose on the road started

My first away game (that I remember) was away to Leyton Orient on the 3rd March 2001, the day before my 7th birthday.

We had more fans there than Orient and won 2-0. Bobby Zamora scoring because it was an early 2000's Brighton game, who else would have scored? Going from the Withdean to a proper old school terrace was a bit of a culture shock

Highbury was my 2nd away game with the old man during that 83/84 season. We won 2-0. I remember liking Highbury and the big terraces at both ends. Sadly though Highbury is also the first place I saw hooliganism up close for the first time at football.

Probably surprises a lot of the youngsters on here but Highbury was a sketchy place to go back then.

Like you said it was a cracking ground before they took the terraces out, could be properly noisy on its day too. I always wonder what that generation make of the emirates as it's so soulless in comparison.

In fact I reckon that weird board with pictures of fans they put up made more noise than the current crop of tourists and tarquins at the Emirates

Highbury is also the ground where I have stood in both ends, supporting QPR as the away team and home team.

And as you say the fans of that generation must miss Highbury. I know I would if I was an Arsenal fan.

1983. Liverpool ironically. Some scally told us to give him 50p to look after our car. My Dad picked him up and hung him by his jumper on a spiked post. Apparently he was still hanging there on the fence half an hour later according to some locals. Lost 0-3 though we won the return leg 1-0.

Lost 2-1. If memory recalls Billy Ferries scored a consolation.

  13. Liverpool, March 1995. Sister's boyfriend took my and we were in the Kop. I had my United goalie top on under a coat. Lost 2-0.

If you can call it an away, Everton v Liverpool, 5-0, the day Rush hit them for 4, still one of my most enjoyable games :)
