Thought Diaz had a good game. The energy levels are on another level racing up and down the pitch. Us mere mortals would be gasping for breath after one sprint.
Sorry for your loss @Machida x That was a special win, a very emotional one. What a manager he is and what character from our team. Some stand out performances from Kelleher, VVD, Konate and Endo but my fave of the lot was Macca. I have a few gripes with Gakpo and Diaz but it’s not the right time after that win. All the young kids doing us proud. So glad we missed out on that Caicedo, dirty and shit. Chelsea really did have the chances to win that in normal time but something just seems amiss with them, I don’t feel they play as a team. No bravery or winning mentality from the players or manager.
Chelsea’s ability to destroy a player is remarkable. Caicedo was twice the player of Mac last season but after how they both left it was nice to see Mac Allister run absolute rings around him.
It’s not the fact that it was a foul because it wasn’t really. It’s the fact a man coming from an offside position blocked a defender. It was harsh but I’m not surprised it was ruled out after seeing the replays.
Did I want Liverpool to win the cup? Did I **** but the amount of rival fans saying it's a Mickey mouse cup. Get to ****, any trophy is a trophy, bellends.
I love it when you see fans of clubs that would give their left arm to even reach the final sayings its a Mickey Mouse Cup Love Mac Allister, far better than what I thought we were getting. Best ex brighton player in the world And I was genuinely gutted when we missed out on Caicedo...I look at him now and I think "Thank ****, we dodged a bullet there". Endo cost about 1/8th of the price Caicedo did and he's better than him.
It's actually baffling to see. Every other player we've sold to premier league teams over the last few years seems to be doing about as well as I'd have expected (or in some cases even exceeding my expectations). Even those who had difficult first seasons like bissouma or maupay have looked significantly better this year. Yet at Chelsea every single one of them (and all the staff as well) have been underwhelming at best. No idea how they've done it.
It's the environment. It's easy to forget that Chelsea in 18 months: - are on their fourth manager (if you include Lampard) - signed 22 what I would call senior players - moved on 22 of the same type of players It's been a shitshow as everyone predicted it to be There's a reason no top club have decided to spend the kind of money Chelsea did in such in short time. It doesn't work. There's a reason no top club embarks on such a crazy amount of player turnover in a small space of time. It doesn't work. I counted 22 senior players that have moved to Chelsea. For context, Mikel Arteta has signed 21 since joining Arsenal Their best move is to persist with Pochettino in spite of what I said yesterday. I do think he's a coward at times but stability might be the way forward for now.
Just a few birthdays off 60 and this team still retains the propensity to surprise me ,what a day yesterday was ,the atmosphere created by those that traveled was unbelievable. Not that we ever disappoint when the need to be heard is so vital to the ears of what was in every sense a completely decimated team. I just love this f*cking team ,everything about them is breathtaking from the first team to the Academy. Hope to God we haven't lost Endo because his energy levels were just unreal out there in that middle ,not going to waste my breath talking about the officials as they don't deserve their place in what was such a special day. Those academy kids were just brilliant ,Clarke and McConnell looked like seasoned veterans out there and Jayden never stopped pushing till the end. I cant even begin to describe the euphoria when the Big Dutchman's header found the net ,but it brought a tear or two.
Myself and the missus were wondering if they brought them with them or were they handed out before the game? They were so quiet, I genuinely didn't hear them once in the entire game. Tinpot.
while agree with most of what you say. Especially about the player turn over which is absolutely ridiculous… Some was club fault letting players run there contracts down and others saw what a disaster it was going to be and jumped ship. I can’t agree with you on Pochettino… he was a serial loser at Spurs…… and yesterday showed why…. Only won something at PSG…… let’s be honest most of us could do that given the chance. Only good thing to come out of yesterday was thank god Liverpool had so many injuries. Can you imagine what the score would have been if they had been at full strength. We would have been chasing shadows all game.
