In my opinion it is an away day. I've been places where on pitch issues have been awful but had a great day out. When you have been there and done that so often you learn to enjoy the day and find other ways to enjoy it.
I do have some sympathy for the Huddersfield fans, but I'm sure if the boot was on the other foot, they'd be doing everything they could to express their anger at how their club has been run. Really feel for the Blackpool fans, horrible situation, and unless someone steps in, doesn't look like it's going to get any better.
Thanks for the support. Sorry for the Huddersfield fans that they got caught up in it, but we are running out of things to do to try and get that family out of the club. All the other things we do are just mocked by them.. i.e. KO car reg of OY51 OUT, picture of KO stood by the big 'Cash Cow' banner a fan put outside the ground, Picture of KO's kids with tennis rackets after the disrupt the game with tennis balls last year etc. From ITV No arrests following Blackpool protest Lancashire police have responded to the protests at Blackpool Football Club which led to the match against Huddersfield being abandoned. There were no arrests following the trouble. The force released a statement: Lancashire Police were notified of a protest that was planned to take place prior to the game against Huddersfield FC. Approximately 2000 people took part in a short march and static protest outside the club, both of which passed off peacefully. Two minutes into the second half of the match, approximately 150 people made their way out of the stands and on to the pitch to peacefully occupy the centre circle. All efforts made by stewards and police officers to ask them to leave were unsuccessful and eventually the match officials made the decision to abandon the game. Our priority is to ensure the safety of all supporters and those involved in the game. The protest was peaceful and non-violent at all times and the response from both the stewards and police officers at the ground reflected this. – Lancashire Police Season ticket sales - No idea. Last summer there was a special offer - £195.30 per year and you could buy either a 1 or a 2 year season ticket. I bought the 1yr. Many will have taken up 2yr one.
your not wrong. In all seriousness I would have left after 5mins of knowing they arnt moving and gone to the pub. Apparently it seems the police and stewards just stood and watched - if that was at our ground West Yorks Police would have brung the horses in. Should have turned the sprinklers on
I've been looking at that Tangerine Knights FB page all week and saw nothing about a pitch invasion on their, must have been top secret. Well done to them though, I'm really glad it happened.
Many have criticised those in charge of my club over the years. I for one, however, am very grateful that we don't have to endure these disgusting people. All support to the Blackpool fans.
Same at Wolves. Steve Morgan has come under so much fire over the years. Im glad we have Morgan and not Oyston. I hope the nightmare will end for Blackpool fans soon.
Oyston stuff aside... If the Football League award both teams a point then it sets a pretty dangerous precedent. We should just let our fans on the pitch every time we go 1-0 up.
From the wording of that Lancs Police statement it seems even they are sticking two fingers up at Oyston, as I'm sure if he'd had his way, everyone who went on the pitch would have been arrested. Absolute disgrace that he even touched that statue, it was funded by public subscription, so isn't his to decide whether it was under threat, even the thought of Blackpool fans vandalizing it is ridiculous.
You'll be awarded a 3-0 win. Albion were awarded that after the battle of bramall lane when Sheffield Utd had 5 sent off.,
Well done Blackpool fans for standing up for what you believe, whatever the consequences. I do not feel sorry for what befalls many opposing fans but you lot have had to take more than any set of fans should ever have to endure. Good luck for the future. OYSTON OUT!!!!
The default is always a 3-0 win in these cases. Also could be a points deduction for Blackpool, not that it'll matter.
Given the Oystons' past record I'm surprised they didn't. although they probably considered it might add a few pennies to the water bill first and chose against it. Wouldn't be surprised at all if the c***s tried to start some mass legal action against every single pitch invader.
They'll probably defer any points deduction till next season, remember they're a northern club, which in the FL's eyes is punishable just for that!!
To be honest that was blackpools best result all season! Whilst they didn't particularly advertise it round here, most people knew some sort of protest was going to happen today.
