Elliott Justham departure to be confirmed Today, all sorts of noise coming out. Our season and club is unraveling fast, 100% we will be relegated, nothing more than what these owners deserve.
Anyone released outside a transfer window is still bound by transfer window rules, couldn't join an EFL club, only another non league . But also why would we? He's done alright this season when fit, doesn't seem upset. I suppose there's the rumour about him having a contact extension triggered by appearances, but that would be another reason he'd want to play. Our support has been so weird about Norwood, there's been rumours about him leaving since about two games into his first season, it's mad. I suppose his demeanour plays into that, but still
Oh yeah im not saying I want him released, just that ive heard someone say we would release him to make this deal happen. Like you though i did think that was against rules and that basically he is stranded with us until the summer at least. Tbh i dont think a team with norwood alone in it is likely to get you promotion. He needs a particular type of player alongside him and in the supporting roles in midfield. It has to click. It did with stones. It hasn't seemingly worked with anyone else. I definately wouldnt be looking to release him. He could be invaluable in the run in. He is a big game player, and his penalties will come in handy potentially should we make the play offs. Im ot sure id be looking to extend beyond the summer tho
Different owners, this lot only came in this season. In that time they’ve appointed a DOF that has to date: Made all the decisions on hires, all young and unproven ****ed off players like Inih Effiong, K Appiah Forson and Junior Morias in negotiations. Sacked Ben Strevens in front of his family at the end of the game. Sacked our data analyst to bring in two of his mates from AFC totton near we’re he lives. one of which never turned up, the other who doesn’t know how to do his job. Threatened bans for any nasty comments we make. Held back any cup run money from going into the squad.
It’s already too late, the rot has set in. The only thing that will save us this season is the poor sides below us. Next season we will start as fsvourites to go down.
Has word come out on how the manager search went yet? Did they go for the cheapest option or did candidates like Barrett decline it? It's so depressing when things turn like this. Plenty of Daggers on various socials rejoiced in our decline, and no doubt plenty of ours would return it, but I think it's always a sad thing when the rot is so inevitably set. Regarding Justham, I suspect we'll be grateful Hayes fell out of favour at Barnet in time.
Just not on. Always the highlight of the year singing "your just a shit tesco sandwich" from the terraces.
That's just sad to read, I don't care what team you support, but it's not what you want to have to write about your own club. We are now in the "Been there" camp as you know only too well, but things like this are still raw. I know the data analyst is now with us as well from DD's previous posts. There are still rumours that Justham might, only might, still end up here. We have signed Hayes, but Collin, who we rate really highly, is out for the rest of the season and Harness' loan from MK ends next week. I can't see us bringing in Justham for cover, so it doesn't stack up for me, but stranger things have happened.
Ive heard he's going to take a break from things for a bit, so I don't expect him to sign anywhere anytime soon and rightly spend some time away from football with family
Yeah he’s been paid up not just rest of this season but he had triggered next years too. If he wants to bench warm at Southend it could make sense as it won’t cost them much as he doesn’t need a proper wage. He will go into coaching, he’s already started it.
Personally hope we don't sign him. Just isn't a signing that makes sense. If we need a back-up we can use our GK or just go with our youth goalie and get someone in on loan if injury strikes.
Its all really weird at Dagenham. Todd Johnson was telling us he wanted to take over but the previous owners sold to the current lot while he was negotiating. It seems like a serious episode of self-harm going on right now Will be interesting tomorrow night at our game to see what the atmosphere is like. Do they think by getting rid of so many players and all this cost cutting that relegation isnt possible this season ?
