Yeah the teams that can afford that sort of wage a week will Want proven quality for that money. Can't see anyone taking a chance on him from this level at that wage. I expect now the transfer window is closed players from higher up will become available and we'll probably get better value aswell.
His agent is having a laugh if that's true. I wouldn't even pay half that for somebody unproven at this level.

Yep. I think it's easy to forget now that what recently seemed like a normal 5th tier salary is quite near minimum wage today. £500 a week is only 2 grand a year above that mark. It's going to become increasingly appealing to play football as extra income rather than the sole one.
I remember playing champ man back in the day and looking at players on £1000 a week and thinking wow!! Half my colleagues are probably on that now
One of the students I know from the college I work at signed for Gateshead in January and he's on 50k a year which is basically a grand a week before tax. Id imagine some of their established players will be on more though.
