Not quite. 4 starts, 2 wins, 2 losses. Admittedly I wasn't at our last 2 games but not sure he's done much wrong in the losses he's played in. What I will say though is I'm not sure starting him ahead of Ferguson is a great idea. Ferguson looked good to me and a young lad who needs game time. Hogan getting on a bit probably won't be here after this season.
Tbf my comment is tongue in cheek. True pro is hogan although hes definitely prone to dropping a bollock. I do fear his playing days are coming to an end and was genuinely surprised when dale signed him. 2 tough games? Or are injuries biting?
Sounded like a frustratingly typical performance of recent games from us. We can show we are capable of causing problems for the opposition, but only do it for a short period. Not for a full 90. I wasn't expecting anything from today given your home form so not that arsed but I wish we could consistently start games on the front foot and not 1/2 down.
“Asked if there was a problem with Norwood, Mellon said: "No. I just didn't pick him."” We had no strikers on the bench today Back in August, if someone said God's Number 9 was first choice striker 35% into the season, I'd have assumed something had gone very wrong, but here we are
Yeah don't disagree. I honestly think he's cover till our first choice CB Ebanks-Landell is fit again. Though surprised he's starting as much as he is. I did notice v Southend he seemed reluctant to kick with one of his feet. Not sure if instruction or if he is just massively one footed. We are nursing a lot of injuries at the moment. But no excuse it happens to all of us eventually. Tbf I think Ebbsfleet aside all our league games this month have been tough. Fleet should have been a simple win at 2-0 up. But Southend aren't a bad side. Halifax ditto and treat our fixture as a derby so will always be fairly tough. Barnet away, well no one has got anything there yet.
Self-inflicted bollocks from Wealdstone that. Absolutely comedy goal to give Ebbsfleet some hope, and then throw it away (again) in stoppage time.
Finished 0-5 and should have been more, Alty really starting to get there now but AFC Flyd were pretty awful and expected more with them coming off an away win at Boston. Alty missing a few key men too so it bodes well but now we have no game for 2 weeks which is a pity as the team and performances are getting back to where we were last season even without ccc.
A point was a fair result both teams never looked like scoring! We did our best statue impressions to let Wealdstone score 2 goals. I agree your keeper made a hash for both goals.
We've been poor away from home this season. Last season, we had the balance between being solid on the road and carrying a threat. This season we've barely looked like scoring a goal away from home. Thought Oldham never got out of 2nd gear and a result was there for us but frustratingly we didn't turn up.
Two steps taken forwards recently, but today was two steps back. Felt like we were beaten from minute one Dewhurst and Byrd stopped the scoreline getting silly in the first half. The rest dreadful on the whole
I suppose in a relegation scrap winning v immediate rivals, like Boston mid week, is good. But 14 conceded in 4 since KP came in would worry me if I was a Fylde fan. Hardly a new manager bounce is it?
Didn’t bother travelling today, feeling pretty deflated with it all at the moment. Dipped in and out of the commentary (the commentators on Radio Tees were fantastic btw) and sounded like we were completely outplayed. We’ve been well and truly sussed out - failed to score in 6 of our last 10, and I think we’re now 5 wins in our last 27 league games. Sleepwalking towards relegation, but our manager is too stubborn to see this and won’t change his formation or his players. Things could turn very sour if this form continues during November.
Nearly blew a 4-1 lead but scraped through with a 4-3 win v Slough. Roll on the FA Cup first round v Morecambe.
I too enjoyed the comms, couldn’t disagree with the analysis going by recent games. We are a really substandard side with a stubborn biased manager. Things will rapidly turn nasty …
Happy to take a point against an FGR side so strong they had Cardwell and Quigley on the bench. They didnt help themselves by going down to 10 men on 21 mins after an awful late challenge on Dan Moss. They then scored with pretty much their first effort on goal We battled back and it was Moss who grabbed the equaliser when he would have been justified to be in a wheelchair !! We couldnt do enough to carve out many chances as we are utterly toothless up front. 2208 turned up which considering how shit we are is really good
