You can do a stroke in the layer properties or go to select>modify>border and choose how many pixels.

How do you make the edges of and image blend into the background or another image?

Use masks, then different brushes, erasors, blurring/smudging tools, whatever works.
Just in case you make a mask in the bottom of the box where your layers are.
Button with a rectangle and a circle in it as far as I remember.

How would you go about rotating the writing or even tilting it!?

Ctrl + T, and then go close to the corners until the rotate icon comes up.

For tilting use one of the free transform options.. not sure which one at the moment because I haven't got PS open. Also if not all of them are available it could be worth copying the text layer, hiding one of them and rasterizing the other and seeing whether any of the now available options work.

Personally I would use the eraser tool but set the opacity to something like 50%.

What Speakers said. But I think it would look better if his arm wasn't transparent and you left him in front of Keane.

    Viewing .pdd files ??

I thought I'd put this in here, since it's purely graphics-related.

I've got a CD with some Adobe .pdd picture files on it, but I don't actually have any Adobe graphics software !!

I'm running Windows 7 -- does anybody know of any FREE software that would alow me to view (and even change !!) them ?

I believe GIMP can work with .pdd files or use XnView.

What the theme is going to be for the sig competition?

for next week, I personally think it should be based on the Cheltenham festival?

The winner of the previous competition, so it's Speakers decision this week.
