Liverpool should target a better league position and a top 4 finish.

Rodgers is the new man and it shouldn't easy for him. He could do it for Liverpool with the players he has brought in. Seemingly setting up the way he did at Swansea.

Key man this season for Liverpool should be Suarez. He's needs get himself sorted out with and then he can get the goals.

Youngster to watch is Martin Kelly. He's good, but he needs the games with him.

Player that must deliver is Pepe Reina. He did not have good season before this.

Liverpool's Achilles heel is the stability. Or even the attack going by last season.

Fixture I am most looking forward to Liverpool playing is Man United. Great game.

    First choice XI:

    Reina

    Johnson Skrtel Agger Enrique

    Shelvey Allen Gerrard Assaidi

    Borini Suarez

Final verdict: Not too sure on the Liverpool team but, they should be better than last season.

I actually agree with most of this. I'd say the youngster to watch though is Sterling if he gets a fair amount of games and our Achilles heel would be our scoring and transfers.

Also we won't play that formation.

A number of our 'senior' players need to up their performances, we need more goals full-stop and the more we can get from midfield the less pressure there will be on strikers - makes marking the strikers out of the game less influential as well.

While we could write off a few forthcoming fixtures by conceding they have a better squad, we need to show grit and determination. Lesser teams can get results and this is where the manager will play a big part. We all start writing games off what message will that send to the players?!?!? If we're destined to lose, we'll lose, but why not spin that around and make us the underdogs out to upset the supposed superior sides?!?!?

This was really obvious last year and a striker that can score was the difference between a bad season and a good season last year. I am amazed you havent bought a proven goal scorer you bought borini whos goal scoring record isnt great. I can see it being a similar season to last play well create chances but dont score.

God I can't even imagine how frustrating it must be for a Liverpool fan to watch Suarez. He gets in great positions and gets round defenders and then just spoons it over the goal or 10 yards wide. He does all the hard work but cant put it in the net. It must be so frustrating.

It's his inconsistency which frustrates the most. He'll have games like Norwich last season where he'll finish from the half way line, but the week after will be fluffing his shots again.

Suarez is a forward/creator... not an out & out striker, he should play him just behind or to the side of a striker... the only reason he plays Sueraz central, BR doesn''t have a great deal of faith in Carroll yet, i genuinely believe if he gives Carroll the minutes, he'll reap the rewards long term. I also think he's not going to do that unless he has no option, we won't find that out until the window closes.

The fact that Suarez himself doesn't see himself as an out-and-out striker explains his erratic finishing, he claims he spent most of his career a winger/wide attacker.

Yeah I'd love Carroll to be given a chance too. A Front three of Suarez, Carroll and Gerrard (with Borini ready to step in) would be decent in my eyes. Backed up by Lucas---Sahin---Allen.
    Reina

    Johnson---Skrtel---Agger---Enrique

    Lucas---Allen---Sahin

    Gerrard---Carroll---Suarez

Subs - Domi/Jones, Kelly, Coates, Henderson, Downing, Borini, Sterling

Our squad isn't really as bad as people make out in truth...this squad doesn't even include Assaidi, Shelvey (who I feel will go out on loan), Robinson, Flanagan, Carragher, Cole, Spearing, etc

Looking at that squad, it's amazing people claim we're a mid-table club at the moment

Nuggets and wums mate. Anyone with a decent knowledge of the game can see we have a pretty decent squad...with a couple of additions I'd say top 4 is a real target. Arsenals squad doesn't look that impressive this season, Spurs neither if they lose Modric.

There is absolutely no way we won't sign any players this week.

    Three "ins" I reckon.

Same here, I'd be amazed if we don't add another player or two. Dempsey will more than likely be one.

I'll be surprised if we make more than one "name" signing this week, maybe 2-3 incoming tops but I doubt they'll all be big signings. I think we're too used to seeing a lot of transfers, even this window we've already brought in a few players which for some never seems to be enough.

Will definitely be interested to see the next line-up in the league, I expect the back four will be predictable, but the rest will be interesting - and to see if Lucas is fit. I'm also interested how long uncle buck continues with the posession/passing philosophy for the CBs, as if Skrtel doesn't give away too much already him dwelling on the ball and passing across the goal is just asking for us to give goals away.

What:eeek and return to the hoofball we've been served up the last few years NO THANK YOU
Im loving the fact we play football from the back, its the whole essence of what Rogers is trying to achieve
Skyrtle made a mistake, nothing more to be read into it as far as im concerned and as Rogers alluded to after the game its the midfielders who have to make the angles for defenders to get out from the back

As for transfer madness week i just hope we get a goalscorer in to play up top moving Suarez out to either side
Just dont have faith in him being the man to get the 20 plus goals needed to be and about it at the end of the season

On a side note i cant wait to see how Sahin gets on and weather he'll have a prominent role in the first 11

This may amuse some of you... Guardian: BR has warned Stewart Downing that the winger may have to convert to left-back to have any future at Liverpool

He certainly looked comfortable there when he was brought on against Hearts...
