You are wrong per usual. It was 10m for the two seasons. The buyout clause was 20m at the end of year 2 if we wanted to keep him.
Which is what we would have paid in total if we bought him outright. On reflection I personally wish we didn't buy Berbatov and paid to keep Tevez. At the time I didn't want Tevez to go but felt we'd made the right move with Berbatov.
Err I think you'll find I'm not, as per usual. £10m per season, you were supposedly loaning him for the two seasons to assess whether you paid the remaining £25m of a £45m asking fee. Anyway back to the topic Brendan Rodgers...
That isn't the way it worked sorry. It would have been a £35m deal with United paying £25m after the initial £10m two year loan fee.
Do you have a source to verify this? Its not easy finding anything as all searches for Tevez end up with link to his Man City misdemeanour's, etc.
The times reported it as a £9m fee with the future fee set at £25.5m. You need to be a subscriber to The Times to view the article, here it is if you have - http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premier_league/manchester_united/article6544339.ece
I've now just seen the telegraph claiming United only paid £6m for the two years or maybe they mean £6m per season, I dunno...so many different figures reported it's impossible to find out the true fee. So we're wasting our time, I do remember at the time it was reported United were paying £10m per season. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...ed-may-pay-asking-price-for-Carlos-Tevez.html
Another source says it was 11m. But hardly the 20m Kenny thinks it was. http://whatculture.com/sport/man-utd-transfers-3-signings-fergie-should-have-made.php
£10m per season would be a little ridiculous don't you think? I remember it being £10m in total we paid and i'm sure most United fans will too. £10m per year? Where did you read that, RAWK?
No, I'm not a member of RAWK, never have been...it was the general "rumour" at the time. But there is no way of proving either way by the looks of things, all Tevez's dealings seem to be buried beneath all the other things that have gone on in Tevez's colourful career.
Well the information we have found tends to lean more towards what me a Tsabs were saying, just because they vary around the £10m mark doesn't mean it's a wash and it could easily be £20m, that makes no sense.
No bullshit with this fella: I think he's just desperate to move a few out, so he can get a couple more in.
Staying and fighting? Clinging onto their extortionate wages more like! We'll soon know who the c#nts are.
“That’s the reality of it - it’s going to take more than one window. The transition of the squad is going to take from this window through to next summer. In the meantime we have to keep our heads down, work hard and try to get results. “This is an incredible club and some players – because of wages and other factors – aren't going to just walk out the door. “There is a wee bit of thinking time for some of them. It’s hard to walk away from here but it goes back to what you want to achieve as a footballer. The ones that want to play irrespective of finance will look to go and play football because that’s their love and passion. “I'm always clear with my information to players and where they stand. Ultimately it comes down to what your objectives are as a player. “I’ve made it clear that my group will be made up of starting players from one to 11, cover players, who can come in and contribute when we need to change things about, and development players, who we can progress into cover players or even starters. “If you fit outside of that then I will tell you. Then it’s up to the player and what he wants. Does he want to play football?” Asked if Carroll would still be a Liverpool player once the window shuts tomorrow night, Rodgers said: “It’s still too early to say. “You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to see that Andy has been a cover player for us in these opening few games. “I’ve got to say he’s been excellent in terms of his attitude and his acceptance of where he’s at. “But for us as a football club, and I'm talking generically here, I’m not sure we’re in a position to have £35million players as third choice strikers or wingers who might be on £5million or £6million per year.” Read More http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/liver...#ixzz24yQPnSiN You have to admire a guy that speaks like that. Reminds you of a young Sir Alex.
It's what we've needed. It's what Liverpool fans want from their manager, which is partly why Hodgson was never accepted.
In the interview he says some players aren't just going to walk out the door because of wages .. wonder who'll that'll be? Joe Cole maybe? I do like he tells it how it is though. Rafa was just like Rodgers in the respect he told no bullshit, big difference is the media seem to like Rodgers and of course never did Rafa. I agree. I honestly could not name one negative about him so far, not one.
