Owen Coyle is now odds on favourite to be the new Bolton manager.
Sky Sports talking about Bolton wanting Coyle and some bookies have reduced him to odds on favourite for the job, 2/5 at Ladbrokes.

This is bad news for you guys, how much of an impact you reckon this would have?

Regardless of what the bookies are saying i dont think Coyle will be leaving for Bolton. Turned Celtic down (the side he supported as a kid ) before the season kicked off so dont see him leaving halfway through this season . :)

If he did want to leave he's still under contract, cant see out board letting him speak with them either..

Think he'll go on to manage a far bigger and better side than us and would be gutted if he does leave but yo've got to deal with things like this. I remember when Coyle first took over as manager and a lot of people didnt have the first clue about him. Even had Burnley fans bitching they wanted a bigger name before he'd been given a chance. Dont hear any saying that now.

For me he's our best chance of stopping

i cant see it happening would have to be a really big team to persuade him to leave or a team with money which Bolton is neither

I'd say he's more likely to wait till the Celtic job comes around again.

Doubt Coyle would rush off to Bolton in their state now.

Must be all mouth from the Bolton end then saying they want him rather than him saying he wants the job. I still got my fiver on Mark Hughes at 5/1 so hoping that one pulls off.

Can't see this happening either tbh. I reckon Bolton will end up with Peter Reid myself.

Wouldn't shock me, Bolton seem ok when they have a half decent manager. Don't think the Celtic thing makes much difference, most PL jobs are more attractive than them, IMO.

Has he refused to a do an interview?

Plane to Scotland apparently, off for a few beers with McGinlay and Walker, watch the Old Firm and come back with his navy blue and white scalf, Mancini style.

    Gotta love speculation.

Who knows? Burnley are quick to jump and cover anything up. I hope for Burnley's sake he stays... (and for the sake of my bet on Mark Hughes)

I watched that interview with Coyles number2 and for me it looked and sounded a complete pile of crap.

If he's off to Bolton i'd rather him be truthful with the fans instead of stringing us along. Supposed to have been seen in the tunnel 45mins after the game yesterday aswell.

    So the sunday rags anyhow:laugh:

Boltron supposed to be offering us 4m for Coyle too. Would be our record outgoing transfer:laugh:

I think £4M will be his release fee, whereby if we pay it, your board can't refuse us contact with Coyle.

We'll see I guess, personally wouldn't be my first choice but it'd be nice to see what he can do with these players. Players like Klasnic, Lee, M. Davies, Gardner, Cohen and Elmander are all footballing players who have been forced to live with a style of hoof-ball.

I'm not one for the 'bigger club' garbage, we're very similar football clubs in my honest opinion. If anything it's nice to see another Lancashire club coming into the Premiership, so wherever Coyle is following this week, I wish you all the best.

Cheers same to you. I think you'll be surprised at how quick Coyle changes the style of play round. He took over from a long ball manager in Steve Cotterill and first game he had us passing the ball about fairdecent. Not as good as we can do but for his first game in charge it was a hell of a lot better that the crap we watched under Cotterill.

I thought Bolton would have gonefor somebody more proven in the premiership, like Hughes or Curbs. Might turn out to be the case yet. Cant see our board letting Coyle go without a fight anyhow.

Really cant see it. He came out and said he had a job to do with Burnley when linked to the Celtic job in the summer. Its a well known fact how much he loves Celtic and he has never hidden that fact, yet he still came out when linked to the job and said he would be loyal to Burnley. Also at the time he said he still harbours ambitions to manage Celtic so with all these things taken into consideration i really cant see Bolton being able to tempt him.

When i first heard the story about him being linked with Bolton i didnt think he would move there either after rejecting the chance to move to Celtic in the summer. He spoke on the local radio and sky news when linked with the Celtic job and said he's stopping at Burnley. This time he's said nowt and i'm not having the story about him flying off to Scotland to see him family for a second.

Looking as though he's going to Bolton. :( Just hope we get somebody in quick to fill his boots then. Need to act fast because of the transfer window :confused

That's the biggest problem I see for Burnley, I don't know if you have any money at all to spend? I imagine if you do, it's not much, but if Coyle leaves you now, the next manager might only have 2-3 weeks worth of the transfer window to operate.
