Last I heard Coyle is on gardening leave because the clubs can’t work out a compensation package. We’re holding out for the 3.5 million but Bolton think they can get him on the cheap. Bolton could be looking elsewhere for a manager which will leave Coyle in limbo because he is not welcome back at Turf Moor. Personally I hope Bolton can find the money so we can get rid of him as soon as possible and move on.

See you then. I'm not bothered if we lose him and get nothing. Just want him gone so we can get on with sorting another manager out.

Be typical of us to bollox something up like this.

 what a sad individual, without him you wouldn't be where you are.

are you going to grudge him a chance to move back to a club he played for and has a soft spot for?

He's done brilliant for you, in fact if he knew this was the way the fans would act i doubt he would have ever moved to your club. that's footy isn't it your a hero until you leave then your the enemy. sad!

Late December- “I enjoy being at the football club, I enjoy my work and coming through the door every morning”.

Early Jan-**** off Burnley,Im off to the first Prem league club that comes in for me because I have realised my CV is going to look shit if I take Burnley down since I haven't managed one away win all season and have no win now in nine games at all

Only one thing to say about Coyle....

Sorry to hear of the situation guys, here's hoping to a wigan/bolton double relegation (though I'd settle for Martinez getting sacked) ey?

It's a shame to see you guys slating Coyle for his departure.
The guy has worked wonders for you and should go down as a legend.
I can understand the frustration of the circumstances with him taking "a sideways step" to another relegation candidate, but it is a club he has personal ties too. Would the situation really be so different had he of gone to Newcastle/Celtic?

The judas chant would have been ringing around Turf Moor if he left to go to Man Utd. They're dingles and don't realise how small their club is and how shit their stadium is. Sidewards step? Maybe. But Bolton are a established premiership club that were in the Europa league a few year ago, they have a better stadium than Burnley, argubaly more fans, a premiership set up, more transfer kitty, better players and they're a bigger club. Lets not forget all this. I think he has jumped ship because of selfish reasons. But I understand. Usually teams without prem experience before tire out in the 2nd half of the season with relatively small squads like Burnley. I wouldn't be suprised if Burnley did a Hull but if they did they would get relegated as Hull had more points than Burnley got in the 1st half of the season. If you think about it aswell, if Burnley got relegated, would they jump straight back up? No. If Hull got relegated, would they jump straight back up? No. If Bolton got relegated, would they jump back up? Probably (they also used to be a yo-yo team until they beat us in the play offs - 2000.) If Burnley get relegated they will probably go into debt (as suggested by their chairman) or have to sell all their players. Burnley will become that midtable championship side that have sub 13,000 crowds a game and the club will be brought back down to earth if they are relegated.

Nice try but WRONG. He said he's not going to spend 20-30m or maybe more to put the club in danger of going into debt if we went down, then spoke about the state Portsmouth find themselves in.

Another thing dont judge all Burnley fans as being the same. If you can spot a single post in any of the threads connected to Coyle where ive called him anything like that point it out to me.

Well you were heading for debt according to your chairman last year and I don't reckon one season in the prem would change much (look at Hull), you have spent more money than you would've in the CCC and the wage bill has probably doubled. But you won't go into debt if you sell your best players. If you sell your best players, not much chance you will go straight back up, you'll become a midtable team again.

I didn't say all fans but the majority think that coyle is a judas (which is unfair to somebody who did an impossible task and made all your dreams come true.) Which would you prefer, Coyle to give you a great cup run and get you into the EPL and then leave to go to a more established club. Or Coyle to do a Ternent/Cotterill and make you into a average championship side threatened with relegation and then get sacked because of this? Because I know alot of Burnley fans regard Cotterill and Ternent higher than they do Coyle now. But ask yourself would they have left if they got a better opportunity?

I cant be arsed going over all the stuff ive already said about Coyle in the countless threads on here but heres the shorter version.

I am and always will be greatful for the job Owen Coyle did for Burnley football club. Been watching them 20odd years and in a short space of time he managed to do what NO other manager has done in the time and taken us to the premiership and spent very little money doing it.

made a far better start to the season that I expected us to do Coyle preached about loyalty and would be ghere till the end of the season thats not me having a dig at Coyle its a FACT, do you see the difference. End of the day though our board failed to give him any sort of backing really and in some ways dont blame him for going.

Would have liked to see him hang in there till the end of the season but it wasnt to be, so speaking for MYSELF i feel a little bit let down by him.

Couldnt really give a shit whether you or the next man thinks thats acceptable or not because thats how i feel.

COYLE will go on to manage a bigger club than Bolton like us i just think they are a stepping stone to further his career and good luck to him.

if a bigger club came in - I would certainly not be childish and call him judas! Honestly - some people seriously need to grow up!

Rooney left Everton for a bigger club and Everton fans and plenty of them still resent him for that. Not the first time a manager or player has been called judas and wont be the last.
