Out until at least the new year. He's done his hamstring. I await the usual suspects to tell us he's just faking it though.
He is obviously not faking a hamstring chief but at what point do you draw a line under it. Proper shocking amount of game time. Especially for someone who is as important when fit.
He's made of wafer. There's not much more you can say about it really. We either stick with him and hope he can stay fit or sell him for pittance and spend a fortune trying to find his replacement.
It really doesn't matter whether he's faking it or not, he doesn't play enough to be worth the money he's on. Unless he is able to put a decent run of games together before the end of the season then I think he'll be binned off. It'll probably cost Liverpool 4th if he's not fit.
No point selling him because for what we would get for him (10-15m I'd imagine) would be daylight robbery if he goes somehwere else and plays 20 games a season. Personally I'd just keep him and when he is fit brilliant we have a top class striker but don't build around him. Just my opinion not sure what others think but I would build around Origi personally has all the traits to be world class he is quick, strong, excellent technique, two footed and as he showed last week can certainly finish, just needs a run of starts imo preferably with Coutinho and Firmino flanking him.
I do think at times Liverpool fans do over rate sturridge The reaction when he scored them goals at Southampton last week was embarrassing and at times talk about sturridge like hes pele "just wait till sturridge is back, hes fit for next week etc" How many games did he play on his comeback 2 ?
Some players' bodies just can't cope with the rigours of being a professional athlete. Dean Ashton, Owen Hargreaves, Andy Carroll, Michael Owen, all great players but their bodies can't hack it.
No way he should be sold, but he should be put on a pay as you play contract, with some sort of small retainer though, so he doesn't starve to death. He played about 90 minutes total & scored two goals, & you reckon that's proof he's over rated. You moron.
Pay as you play contract needs to happen, with a small basic wage. Might encourage him to get off his arse a bit quicker. Mad how many injuries the guy seems to pick up!
I think he's got a hereditary muscle problem, his uncle Dean Sturridge had the same thing. It's not a mental thing, you actually have to have strong mentality to come back from injury every 5 minutes, it's a big shame..
You're probably right Ollie, there must be some underlining fragility. It would almost be understandable if he had one recurring bugbear but the exasperating thing is that it's a different injury each time for him.
Both his uncles & his dad had injury problems so I'd say it's likely... “Maybe it’s my body type, maybe it’s hereditary. Both my uncles had injuries, and my dad had them as well. Maybe it’s the Caribbean vibes, maybe I have speed but maybe it makes you more vulnerable because of the fast twitch muscles and the speed in which you’re moving. I am vulnerable to muscle injuries.” http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/oct/29/daniel-sturridge-liverpool-hereditary-injury
