It's not Caribbean vibes imo. Loads of players who rely on burst of speed seem to suffer from similar things, you have to think once the muscles become susceptible to damage it will affect other areas.
Coming back from a long stretch on the sidelines can also increase the risk of muscle injuries etc. I understand the frustration with him, but he'll have it x 50. However there's no logic behind selling him. With his injury issues no one will be willing to take him on unless they clear up, he'd have nowhere to match his wages anywhere else with his issues, the fee we receive would be no way near commensurate to his quality either and it's better having the 'bonus' of Sturridge ourselves for 15 games a season in the hope that we can get him fixed than sell that to a rival where he could regain his fitness and be getting 20 a season. We shouldn't be looking to replace Sturridge, but have quality strikers as well as him. Ings' injury makes it more frustrating, he looked like he could prove a really good option, especially under Klopp, and he'd have had loads of chances.
Never knew Dean was his uncle. I remember he had problems with injuries. And Simon was even worse - he was at Stoke and barely ever seemed to play, I remember it being a running joke with the Stokies. It's definitely in the family.
He actually does, once fit he's flying straight away, you can hardly say he takes his time to get over injuries. He heals ok, but injurs way too often and easily. As someone has just pointed out, its not even the same injury he keeps getting, its a variety of injuries. I'm gutted for the lad in truth, absolute class player, best English striker by a long way, he just deserves a bit of luck.
Turns out it's only a strain. Only out for a couple of weeks with a bit of luck. We need to get this lad fit. He's worth an extra 9-12 points a season.
So this kid has gone from tweeting "hes fit and ready" two weeks ago but now hes pulled up again And before you scousers have a pop im been serious, hes got you by the c*ck and balls and its getting a joke!
Wish Klopp would make his mind up.One week he's saying he needs to toughen up,the next he wont rush him back Don't know about anyone else on here, but my boss would have sacked me by now.
Realistically, there's no way Liverpool should sell him as any valuation will be ridiculously low for a player of his quality. It's a shame he's such a crock, but I'd like to see Liverpool play with his ego. The guy has one of the best attitudes in the Liverpool team when he's on the pitch, he wants to score goals and he wants to be the main man. Now if Liverpool got a striker in who went on a run and became the main man, I wonder if Sturridge would start to play through more games. Of course, he'll still get injured a lot like he did in the 2013/14 season but he still managed a lot of games considering he was partnering one of the best strikers in the game that year.
I honestly thought Sturridge would "magically" get fit once Klopp was appointed, but alas, he clearly can't stay healthy.
He's having the equivalent of a pre-season for the first time in 18 months. A couple of sessions missed isn't huge.
That stat given by the commentator yesterday, if true, really is astounding. Liverpools last 90 games sturridge has started 13. I knew his injury record was bad but that sounds utterly terrible. Wow.
