If it's an Ibiza, they're essentially a VW Polo with different badging. Can't go wrong with them.

What's the difference going to be?

The ST's a 2.5 turbo so if the RS is to be bettered it's going to be bigger?

He's not, if you're after a decent bargain, I'd go to Manchester or wherever from Bristol for the right car.

Information that we have gleaned so far suggests that the car will be fitted with a twin-turbo version of the ST’s 2.5-litre five-cylinder engine, resulting in a power output of around 300bhp; torque could be limited in the first two gears to keep torque-steer at manageable levels.

There isn't really much on it atm Pubclown because it doesn't come out until 2009 just speculation atm but in looks the RS is so much better.

Sounds like I may be touching myself soon;)

Sounds good. RS have always been quality (of course very boy racerish)

Like you say hopefully the ST will drop in price The 2.5 ST will do me fine, gives me a little more time to save.

Here is a photo I took of the new RS at the motor show.

It looks very very special even in this terrible colour!

That's an extraordinary amount of power for a car of that size, it would have to be rear wheel drive to use it effectively, but it won't be?

I remember that the 2.0L Astra VXR produces 240bhp and suffers terribly from torque steer, but limiting torque in the lower gears would affect performance adversely while improving handling. Adding an extra 25% to the output at the wheels would be pointless if you then electronically limit it?

As for the body shape I hated the old Focus, but I think the new one is a real eyeful.
