I don't have a problem with the ending that they tried to tell, my issue is with how they told it. It was rushed, and therefore very poorly executed, imo.
Ends tend to feel rushed, because people always want more. Sopranos was slated for its ending at the time. Anyway, I'm sure the 5 spin-offs or whatever should suffice in regards to filling the rest in. I don't have a problem with people not liking it, just those that hate it because they took ownership of what should happen.
Ah, "kid". The sign of someone desperate to seem like they're above someone else After all that spiel. I'll give my opinion on the matter. I don't care one bit if it upsets you. Grow a pair.
Ok lad. good day. As per though, you manage to twist it. I haven’t one issue with you opinion. Often I agree with a lot of what you say funnily enough. It’s the way you put it across every single time. You love to think you’re above the people you converse with and in doing so, you typically respond condescendingly. I’m not even sure you realise you’re doing it tbh. It comes naturally to you. You could’ve easily come in and said that you didn’t agree with people slagging off the ending but no, they are all entitled brats and cry babies. Classic flip.
Because I think an awful lot of people are exactly that, entitled brats. No other show has ever had people still crying about it many months after it ended. People didn't get the end they imagined and didn't want the show to end. Boo ****ing hoo. I'm not mitigating my opinion to preserve your precious sensibilities.
My sensibilities are far from precious. I just think you are a ****, so often say it as I see. Anyway, enough.
And I haven't moaned in the slightest about your opinion of me. Perhaps you could stop crying about me saying it as I see it. It's traditional in good decorum to offer the last word, rather than having it and then trying to stop the conversation.
I just finished this and echo the broad thoughts of everyone else Superb, S 1-4/5ish are some of the best telly I’ve ever seen. Doesn’t maintain quite that level throughout but still superb, but ending a bit of a letdown, mainly due to how rushed and unwarranted it felt. Spoiler The Red Wedding is, along with a particular moment in Better Call Saul (anyone who’s seen will know) the most shocked I’ve been at a TV Show. I was stunned, in the best way possible. I actually felt the biggest letdown was Stannis though. That guy was a ****ing hero IMO, and got dragged through the mud big time
Book Stannis is far better, and I think it is expected that his journey to Winterfell will have a different ending, if the book ever gets released that is.
It all goes to shit when they had no more book material basically - the dialogue and writing was world class and then it tails off into the realms of pure amateur level when they were out on their own. Seasons 5-8 are full of laughable plot holes and woeful character development.
It was good, but riddled with appalling logic and decision-making from all sides, as well as general plot holes. What I liked about prime GOT is how realistic it was in terms of if you make a dumb decision, or get outsmarted by an enemy, you are dead, no matter how big a character you are. We saw this loads in S1-4. In the era that BoB took place, Jon Snow had very thick plot armor on, every dumb move he made he would miraculously escape death. The final 4 seasons suffer from that way too much, everyone suddenly had thick plot armor on which took away a lot for me, the magic of peak GOT was that no character was safe from being killed.
Battle of the Bastards was my favorite as well. I am curious to see what ending GGRM has in mind, particularly what he does with Daenerys and Jon and the prince that was promised prophecy. He says the shows ending is basically the same thing as his but I'm sure the show had many missing elements given how rushed it was.
I read somewhere that he still has another 2 books in the series to write,i've read all the books but what annoys me is he keeps getting distracted by other projects i just want him to hurry up and finish GOT before writing anything else.
He won't ever finish the books imo. My gut feeling is that he has potentially written himself into a corner/doesn't have a satisfying ending thought up, he originally said he'd release WoW in 2015, so almost a decade of stalling and delaying now, it's not gonna happen .
