Further news on the Millers fan who had a heart attack which caused the Birmingham game to be halted. This has been posted on the Club FB page by his son, thankfully it sounds promising :- Hi, just a quick update on my dad Sid Barraclough, he's now awake and has left intensive care. He's still not out of the woods yet but the fantastic staff at Rotherham general hospital have done an amazing job with him so far. On behalf of my dad and the the rest of my family we would just like to say a heart-felt thank you for the kind words that have been said through the social media platforms.
Im still staggered he survived that, there was at least 5 different people who had a turn doing chest compressions on him. I’ve been a first aider at work for years, always do the CPR training every couple of years, when you actually see it being carried out on a person it’s ****ing brutal. Glad to hear he’s on the mend.
I sit bang opposite and you're right it did look brutal, it looked at one stage as if they were about to give up. But the last guy doing the compressions just carried on and on, he must have been exhausted. He deserves a medal.
Sunderland Legend Charlie Hurley has passed away. On the pitch at Roker's last game he got on the microphone telling Murray and co "Get your act together for these wonderful people" didn't he? RIP. https://twitter.com/SunderlandAFC?r...o.net/smb/threads/charlie-hurley-rip.1632252/
Rest in Peace to a Sunderland legend. Spent five years as Reading manager, joining us at our lowest ever point in the league, signed arguably our greatest ever player, and got our first promotion in 50 years. So well thought of down these parts too.
I presume this will be the same for everyone. Can see it really affecting attendances. Around half of Watford's league games will be shown live by Sky next season
We've had 34 games on TV this season (includes QPR and Southampton final day), can't be too many more anyway. Championship: 31 League Cup: 1 FA Cup: 2 Summary by TV Station Sky Sports: 27 Sky Sports Red Button: 5 BBC: 1 ITV4: 1
I was going to say thats the quoted average, but this paragraph I think is very important so bodes well for more games. The shame is that the EFL streaming service will be gone though, I prefer that over sky.
Yep, sad day. Named as our Player of the Century and affectionately known as ‘The King’. RIP Charlie.
Scott Wharton did his ACL in the game v Wednesday, out for much of next season now. Not had the best luck after an achilles repture at the end of 2020 kept him out for 11 months too. Add an extra defender to the summer wish list as well as a keeper!
See you next season after the points deduction? Straight back down, straight back down, straight back down
A Preston takeover has been mooted in the press. Miami-based group for £50m. Seems farfetched for us.
