Would he go to Bayern if offered?

We aren't united or chelsea we won't be appointing a subpar manager just because they used to play for us.

It was going to happen sooner or later but Klopp has left a very good team for the new manager to take on in the summer. We’re much better placed than when Rodger’s was sacked.

We’ll undoubtedly be in transition for a couple of years but I think we’ll be fine. Ultimately though I hope it inspires the team to win a couple of more trophies (Europa) and give Klopp the chance to say he won absolutely everything he could at Liverpool.

Xabi Alonso is kind of the only logical option out there right now.

There is no proper replacement, Klopp is the best manager the club could possibly have by a distance.

The club needs to go all out to bring Edwards back to be sporting director imo.

Tbh I don't think it's just about burnout, it's odd he isn't seeing his deal out that runs until next Summer iirc?

Actually nevermind 2026 but still think it's about more than that with things still up in the air re sporting director.

You have to respect the timing really. He's mentioned that he has run out of energy - it felt like that was the case a little last season but he's rebuilt over the summer (the midfield especially), got Liverpool back to a good place on the pitch and leaves the next manager with a very capable squad to go again.

It'll be hard replicating what he's done of course but it could easily have come at a worse time. A big loss to the Premier League and I think the biggest compliment you can give him is that supporters of other clubs will be celebrating his departure.

Totally shocking. That's my extended weekend ruined.

I can understand his reasons. The kind of manager he is, it must be draining.

It will take a while for this to sink in. All I wish is that he leaves on a high, this season.
He has definitely upgraded the team and leaves us in a better shape.

    Absolutely.

I don't think so, couldn't visit Dortmund anymore then, he's not a "traitor" like Tuchel ;)

    Seriously, though, I hope not.

I always had the hope that if he leaves Liverpool he would become Bundestrainer, and the timing is perfect (doesn't mean it will happen. But one can hope ;) ).
I don't think Nagelsmann will win us the Euro, so that's it then for him.

Bitte Jürgen, komm' nach Hause :pray ;)

Yeah I can see him taking the Germany job after the Euros. Nice holiday over the summer then a slower pace of life as an international manager for a while.

Hard to imagine him at another club for some time.

Fact Ljinders is already confirmed to go suggests to me:

A the club wants to do a total overhaul manager and sporting director. B Klopp will probably be in another job relatively soon.

German national team makes the most sense. Only other club side is Bayern right now really, unless he fancies a Barcelona... but they are surely too crazy financially right now to risk?

Give me Xabi Alonso & Florian Wirtz and I can cope just about. Be nice to win a trophy to send him off with ideally Europa to complete the set.

It's wild how lacking in replacements there is right now. Xabi Alonso is the only one I'd be happy with and he has minimal experience. Albeit he is impressing massively this season, and last.

On that side it probably does feel like the best time, since Bayern are probably going to try and poach him in the Summer. Hopefully the club is confident or else we will be replacing Jurgen Klopp with a second choice. Which would be bad.

They need to get this signed off. The next favourites are Ljinders (doesn't seem likely) De Zerbi (not sold tbh), and Gerrard (lol).
