Where can he go though? His wage is currently £350k... he will likely be after over £400k minimum from his next deal.

I don't think Real will be interested. They are stacked out wide and seem to be focusing on young footballers now. Barcelona perhaps, but they're a mess right now. Maybe Bayern come sniffing if he's available on a free transfer in 2025.

Oh wait just remembered, PSG.

Salah going to Saudi league could change the audience numbers. He is a massive figure in the Middle East. But I agree, the Saudi league has lost a lot of steam & interest.

Edwards doesn't believe in sentiments. It's all about player value for him. I won't be surprised if he initiates the sell, because I can't see the club raising the wages & he will be a free agent after next season.

The only other possibility is him running down his contract.

Salah seeing his deal out in amicable circumstances wouldn't be the end of the world. Sure you miss out on a fee, but only Saudi are going to offer anything ridiculous. He has more than covered his original fee of £35m or whatever it was. If he leaves next Summer he also gets a send off.

God knows, think we'll lose a few plus we've no clear decision on the betting issue with him.

Was funny hearing Felix the other day saying he hopes Barca buys Cancelo.

Lmao Barca can’t afford either of you.

I dunno. Feels like people are looking at him thinking he's automatically going to follow Haaland's trajectory.

Any striker that we buy this summer will be bought with the expectation of firing us to glory. It's a lot to ask of a 20 year old who has played ~1200 minutes of German football this year.

We've been linked to so many targets. I don't know who our #1 choice is or what is or isn't feasible.

With Havertz looking good up front we can afford to take a risk on a Sesko or a Zirkzee rather than splashing our whole budget on Osimhen or Toney.

Tbh I don’t think Toney would cost more than £40m no matter what the media / club might say out loud.

I wouldn't go that far personally with Havertz. He's done a decent job doing this utility role as a midfielder or front man.

I don't know what it is with Havertz, he seems to draw out these opinions rooted in hyperbole. When we signed him, you'd think we just signed a genuine bum from off the streets going by the reaction of people. Conversely, now he's been a part of a unit that's scored goals, he's now the right option for us up front moving forward.

(I'm referring to reactions I've seen in the Arsenal supporter bubble).

He hasn't played up front in all of those games.

I like his profile and the role he performs for us, those games where we are expected to dominate the ball and territory and he can effectively act as a second striker as he runs in from midfield is what I like but for me we need a killer up front, someone to take chances in those very games.

He’s been a better player than I thought he would be for you. Still probably not worth the fee, but not a failure at all even at the price you paid. I think people forget how young he is too.

I would also agree with you though, you need a top quality specialist striker, someone to properly lead the line and bully defenders. I don’t think defenders fear Havertz, or Jesus really. You need someone who is tough to play against and scares you (bit like Odegaard and Saka do, though obvs a different skill set needed).

I just want someone that can put the ball in the back of the net. A lot easier said than done finding that player though.

He's looked better than Toney in the last few months. I reckon one of Sesko or Zirkzee would immediately take his place, but if they needed time to adapt he could rotate without it being a massive problem.

It'd then allow us to spend the big money on the midfield.
