To be fair to Toney he’s been playing in a team playing pretty awfully, getting very little service. He’s definitely not been at the heights of last year but he didn’t play football for 8 months or so, it’s to be expected.

the point about havertz is that arsenal massively overpaid for a player thst won't score that many when they really needed a striker.

he has 9 for arsenal this season which is alright bit hrs the main man.

he scored 2 in 20 in the cl which kind of says ot all.

the second arsenal paid big big money for him the obvious comments were made and are still being made.

He's not the main man or rather hasn't been all season. He's made 38 starts this season, I'd wager about 10 of those have been as the #9. He was signed to play a hybrid role where he is in midfield and supports the front man from deep. Totally different role to playing up front.

This would be the third time we've 'shown interest' in Bruno Guimaraes. The report also states he has a £100m release clause.

City going to sign Guimaraes and Paqueta :eeek

he's played plenty for you cos Jesus is injured.

i think most of us were all looking at you and wondering what on earth are they doing.

    why?

cos rice made perfect sense but I think most agreed you needed a focal point striker last summer and you surprised everyone going for havertz.

He's played plenty in the role he was bought to play. Don't be ignorant dude, listen to the guy who watches Arsenal week in week out. When he was signed, the talk in the media was about the role he would play in midfield. This is what the manager said when we signed him:

I've just gone through all our starting XIs on BBC and this was the tally for those who started up front:

    Jesus - 16
    Nketiah - 13
    Havertz - 11
    Trossard - 6

He's started 38 games this season yet only 11 up front so where do you think he was playing the rest of the time?

He was signed to play midfield for us and he's done that for nearly 75% of his Arsenal career so far. I expect it to continue.

The idea that he's been 'the main man' is incredibly factually incorrect. He hasn't. I'd go as far as saying we don't have one. Which I'm ok with. Swap out Nketiah for someone better and we'd be in great shape next season.

For us to move to a situation where there is a defined striker who is universally considered to be our first choice, I think we'll have to sell Jesus and Trossard and change up the profile of our squad. That might happen but I don't think it will yet.

Be Paqueta to city won’t it, not both. Could see Man United going for Guimaraes as their statement signing.

Only signed his last contract 18 months ago but then a number of other players got new deals too at a higher level of pay. Considering his level of performance this season, he deserves parity with the other members of the undroppables.

I don't forsee Liverpool giving a new contract to Salah and van Dijk tbh. Both are already the highest earners at the club and both north of 30. Edwards pretty much left because the club handed a new deal to Henderson.

I'd assume it was length rather than any contract at all.

But yes I'd be utterly shocked if salah gets any new deal as he is rapidly slowing.

Vvd might get one year extension though.

The big thing is what are they doing regarding new signings

They may view losing Thiago's £200k a week wage as a route to get them both signed up, but ultimately think Trent has to be the priority. Then VVD, then Salah.

I would sit here and say who is paying whatever fee United would want for Rashford as well as his wages.....then I remember we gambled on Kai Havertz last summer :eeek

Rashford's a Manchester United fan, playing regularly and under contract (on good money) until 2028 I think.

Hard to see him going anywhere unless he personally wants a change. Might be good for his career if he did but don't really see where he'd go unless he's open to playing abroad. I'd be surprised if he moved on tbh.

Doesn't play like he's a fan of the club. He's having them over.

Partly the fickle nature of football. I feel like a lot of them were raving about him only a year ago.

He's a lazy ****, walked off the pitch in a Semi final with **** all wrong with him. He would've been gone a while ago if he wasn't out of the academy
