We've just released our interim report for the 6 months up until the 31st of December 2017. Period end net cash at bank of £30.9m (2016: £18.6m). . .Very healthy indeed for a club playing in Scotland.. Celtic PLC Interim report
The reason it's there is because of the way we go about our business and some of it will be invested in infrastructure that will strengthen us as we move forward. There will also be a huge dent in it should we fail to qualify one year due to the operational costs we now have.
Glib has had his appeal thrown out and now has to make an offer for the shares and prove he has at least £11m spare to do this. Not good news for them or him but no doubt they will turn on him and wriggle out of this somehow.
During the original hearing at the court of session (where he was taken for lying) he stated to the court that he had no authority or control over NOAL (his families trust). At the hearing today where his appeal was laughed out of court it was made public that he had sent an email this morning to the TRFC board that NOAL would make the offer for the shares should the hearing go against him. And STILL they believe everything this notorious liar say's
Matt Scott@Matt5cott 3m3 minutes ago BREAKING: AC Milan face likely exclusion from next season's Europa League competition after failing to meet the FFP break-even requirement. "After careful examination of all the documentation and explanations provided by the club, the investigatory chamber considers the circumstances do not allow conclusion of a settlement agreement." This pretty much rules out a fine. A transfer ban also unlikely. Ban probable. 'Break even requirement'. . . . .Anyone able to explain to me how Rangers qualify for this?
Italy is obviously just a lot more strict now after the mass cheating scandles that crippled the legaue for many years. It's really in the SFAs hands and they are far to lenient on Rangers and how they structure their "loans", there are many instances throughout Europe of the nations FA stepping in and telling sides to get their house in order before they represent them in Europe.
Matt Scott@Matt5cott There are a number of clubs still under investigation, chief among them PSG. I couldn't tell you if Rangers are as well. But if they've had major breaches, as participants in the Europa League, then they risk sanction. They have got to be, they post losses year in year out and are relying on loans to simply survive.
There was mass corruption and cheating going on is Scottish football pre 2012. Imo time will prove that it is still going on and that the SFA are complicit in both of the time periods. The very fact they they let them masquerade as the same club tells you all you need to know.
Massive cash involved if we can qualify for the group stages next season, could be around £50m at stake. Celtic are in line for a windfall of at least £40million after UEFA reveal a huge increase in Champions League money | HeraldScotland
Not Scottish but related to this thread in my opinion. . Aston Villa in big trouble because they 'went to the casino to try and get back to the premiership' according to their old finance director. . . . .makes phrases like 'speculate to accumulate' which we've all heard at one point or another sound ridiculous. Aston Villa: Former finance director Mark Ansell says club gambled on Premier League return
Good. Lets hope this kind of thing is applied to all the cheating bastards in Europe. Clubs like Paris, Man City, Barca and Real Madrid who are losing fortunes and massively in debt but are allowed to cheat (imo) their way through. What really f*cks me off is that these clubs have already got more money that the rest but still outspend their means. Lets also hope that it's applied fairly in the Scottish leagues as well.
Here's a deal that warms the cockles Dave King tells Rangers fans he's a top negotiator ad has taken on Mike Ashley and rid him from the club. A year later everyone finds out through another court case that in fact Rangers paid Ashley £3.5m in the negotiations, a fact King had forgotten to tell his clubs fans. King then announces he had to pay this but it was worth it to get shot of Ashley. Ashley then takes King to court saying that part of the negotiations was a deal that let Sports Direct match any other deal Rangers were offered for merchandise.. . . .Again King forgot to tell his clubs fans this. King disputes this and Ashley takes him to court for breach of contract. Today King and Rangers 'surrender' out of court, Rangers are ordered to pay Sports Directs legal fee's and obviously their own . . circa 500k. .. . So we're talk talking £4m now. And here's the best bit. . .. . . .
