I'd like to see the difference in the bids that went in. They have also announced that they have won the EFL contract. . . . . £595m over five years.
Wonder what lodge this decision was taken it. Sky have become a total embarrassment to the game in Scotland and they are another puppet of jabba. Only one club will be happy with this news as they know that they will only have good news stories about them broadcast and they will also get as many live games as possible shown to give them extra money. I hope that a lot of Scottish subscribers cancel them. Though BT sport seem to be backing out of lots of markets. They have lost a few things lately and the European football will be next to go. No way am I going to subscribe to Sky again, even if they make it cheap.
It's started already. The pic they showed to announce it has Rodgers behind Gerrard looking scunnered and nervous and Gerrard infront all smiles. It's a small thing but the message is clear.
Doesn't surprise me tbh. One of their main editors for Scottish football is a friend of jabba and does his/their bidding.
English Championship clubs meeting today to talk about a break away from the PL. I know it's not Scottish football related but could have an impact on our game. There has to be a way of stopping the outrages payments to English PL sides that everyone in this "Union" props up with only a few reaping the rewards.
Time to look into having our own SPFL subscription channel again although they have signed us away until 2025.
Talking of finances, an independent survey has concluded that Celtic pump £165m into the Scottish economy every year. They put more in than the Commonwealth games attracted and also more than the entire golf tourism industry. Celtic contribute £165million boost to Scottish economy every year
It would be great if as a collective the clubs expressed concern over how cheap we have sold our rights away compared to similar size footballing nations. Belgium - £60 million a year Sweden - £55 million Denmark - £54 million Greece - £50 millions Norway - £35 million Now all these are old figures due to be renegotiated so in all likelyhood these nations will continue to get better and pull away from Scottish clubs. The new deal from Sky sports I'd between £27-32 million a year depending on who's reporting it. Now the fact that they refuse to release the figures but do so with every other major competition they have on their platform tells me something is off about this deal. The money Celtic will recieve is nothing to us, and just keeps the lights on and no more at clubs like Hamilton etc.
Yeah the money being touted to us is a disgrace tbh. No wonder the game is down the shitter I see the conspiracies haven't gone anywhere since I was last here though
The pittance TV deal filters right down to grass roots. No wonder Scottish Football is labouring against other nations FAs. Is there any way of working out what sort of profit Sky is making on the deal? ie, there has to be a breakdown of their accounts somewhere. (Where's Susan when you want her?!)
It's just going to cause Scottish clubs to fall even further behind other leagues. No-one will make any decent progress in Europe, players will want to stay in richer leagues.
There isn't one conspiracy in the thread, if you don't understand something or are too ignorant to want to understand what has went on that's totally up to yourself.
Looks like the club who claim to have made a profit in their (unaudited) half yearly accounts have been visiting the Close brothers again. Don't know for how much but it's secured against everything they own practically. So the stadium isn't one of them.
When you see the amount of security I think you're talking over £8m. Plastered all over the media last week because they told them they had made a profit then knocking on the door of a payday lender for millions to see out the season. You won't be reading it in the same media outlets that told you about the '£5m profit' last week though.
Any other clubs fans would be questioning the likes of this but that lot are mental. Surely they should be asking wtf is going on given events round those parts 7 years ago but no, as long as someone tells them they are ra peepul, they're happy.
