Yeah they did eight as well though they had only scored seven in their first six games.

The Falklands war is a lot more recent than WW2, so far more people will remember it or remember soldiers in their family who died or got injured. Also, where Germany has long gotten over WW2, Argentina still upholds their pathetic claim on the Falklands and keeps throwing out diplomatic spats because of it.

It's a lot more understandable if people hate Argentina because of the Falklands than if they hate Germany because of WW2.

So far, Brazil have had Neymar, Netherlands have had Robben, Argentina have had Messi, but Germany have had a team.

    Hope Germany win.

I can't see Argentina losing this now they are in the final. It will be like a home game for them but more importantly in the home of their bitter rivals.

2-1 Argentina and Messi to get both goals!

Can't keep blaming THESE Germans for WW2, the footballers themselves were born were 30+ years after the end of it. We don't have a massive hatred towards Italy for the Romans, do we? If you're reasoning for a team to lose due to politics then this is a lot more relevant.

I do want Germany to win though, but that's due to them being the best team in the tournament. Everyone has looked average but they've looked slightly above that level. They also deserve it for what they did to the hosts.

I'd say that Germany don't really have any superstars along the lines of the ones I've named. And that's not intended as a criticism. They're just proof that abillity and tactics can overcome flashy stepovers.

Didn't an Argentine FIFA delegate refuse to vote for England's bid for the 2018 World Cup unless they handed the Falklands over?

    Three things:
    1) That's not really the FA's decision is it?
    2) It has nothing to do with the strength of England's or anyone else's bid.
    3) If FIFA object so much to politics interference in football, how is football permitted to interfere in politics?

Yes, that's it, me too. Still Argentina have been very good defensively and last night attacked more and better than Holland. They won't roll over defensively like Brazil I guess and will be a tough bunch to beat. I expect a very closed, cagey, extremely boring game, simply because that's the way Argentina will make it, that's the way they play nowadays to get their results.

Also I would like an European side to win in South America for the first time.

Yeah i was saying thing to my mate a few days ago, before the Brazil game in fact. he started going on about Messi, but you stop him then what? at least with the Germans if you stop Muller they have 4 or 5 other players who can win it . prefer their style of football over anybody elses i seen in the world cup as well.

    1-2 Germany.

Think Argentina have to score the first goal if they are to win.

1-1 with Germany winning on penalties.Think i'll put a bet on with 1-1 at 90 minutes then winning on pens.

Suddenly? He already is. Winning a World Cup has been the only thing delusional Brazilians and other Messi haters have bought up to try and counter that claim.

If you think Messi is better than Maradona then you need help. I lost count how many times he lost the ball last night by being a greedy ****. Go and watch some of Maradona's videos from 1986, not only did he do incredible things but he basically never gave the ball away. Messi can score 70 goals a season against tinpot Spanish teams but he will never be Maradona.
