The rear is nice. I hate where they’re going with the grills though. Bigger with every new model, absolutely no need.
In a bid to improve road safety, new cars will be fitted with speed limiters from July 6, 2022. The Intelligent Speed Assistance (ISA) black boxes will use GPS to work out what the speed limit is and will then ensure the car doesn't break it. A new regulation will be imposed by the European Commission in the General Safety Regulation having been approved by the European Parliament in 2019. ISAs will be mandatory for all new models given 'type approval' from July 6. This means it includes any new car brought to market from that date, rather than new cars already in production. Eleven new driving laws and changes to come into force in 2022
Picked this up today was sorry to say goodbye to my Kia Sportage, but I was having gearbox problems and too much money to invest Looking forward to happy driving in this one
Bit of a dead thread but need some advice. Looking at getting a new car, narrowed down to two choices. Mk 3 facelift Leon or Mark 7 Golf. Both of course are very similar in many ways of course, but which one would you choose? Leon of course is cheaper, good car and overall a much more sensible option, but at the same time I have always wanted a golf and feel like I should go for it now I am finally in the financial position to do so... however I feel like I can't justify spending 2-3k more for basically a badge change. I would go for something more "exciting", but at the grand age of 30 am looking start a new family soon... therefore the 3 door 05 plate Golf GTI in lightning blue I found the other day probably won't go down too well with my other half.
The Golf may cost more now but would also be worth more when you sell it. I've never owned a VW or a SEAT so no opinion on the relative quality of either.
Got rid of this a few weeks ago, couldn’t justify how much it was costing me any more. It was heartbreaking, but the right thing for me to do at the moment. Got myself a 12-year-old Focus instead… just a bit of a change
Getting used to driving a manual again is almost as much of an adjustment as the difference in power!
Finally got round to trading up for a new(ish) motor. Gone from diesel to petrol, from manual to automatic, from 2013 to 2021, 13,000 miles on the clock, BMW warranty until Jan' 2028.
Got my new Toyota Corolla Icon Hybrid 1.8 (white) in August. Sold my old Yaris to We But Any Car. Looks a lot like:
I can get 70-80 mpg pottering down to the Abbey. In fact, I could get there and back on electric if I was patient and concentrated, Comes into its own in traffic jams on the M6 and A1 for awaydays. Still manage over 60mpg on the long motorway trips. Spotify now provides the soundtrack of driving music.
I am a stingy light-footed driver. Rarely use the brakes and, after 1,500 miles, I still haven't been tempted to switch on the "sports mode" on this jalopy.
