I'd never buy a brand new car.

Well me personally because of the massive depreciation in price.

You lose so much money on it, I'd rather buy ex-demo or year old.

Although I'm more into older cars anyway.

For god sake, I wish people would ask for suggestions before buying a car.

I hate to say it, but you made a mistake with that.

If he wants something reliable, economical, cheap on insurance then he's bought a perfectly good car.

I'm like you, I like cars to have some 'go' in them and I'm prepared to pay extra for it, but some people are just interested in getting from 'A' to 'B'.

It's not about it's performance, but I learnt in one of those Corsa's, and they are extremely uncomfortable.

BUT anyway, can I suggest a few things?

A VXR Body Kit, a Milltek Exhaust, AND some decent Alloys.

(Ask us when you aim to change the wheels, as you'll probably go for some chavvy Halfords sh*te.

I like that Jay, very smart.

Got mine a couple of months ago, mines brand new but it's pre-registered so even though it had only done 100 miles, I was down as the 2nd owner and got it about £2,000 cheaper than if I'd have bought it from the dealer, I'm chuffed with it. For the money I could have got something a lot faster or better with more mileage on it, but I'm glad I have that piece of mind of having no MOT for 3 years, a 3 year warranty and 3 years free break down cover, also cheap insurance and tax.

Haven't got a picture of mine so I'll grab one off the net.

I originally phoned up about one in a better colour which was 2 years older and had 6,000 on the clock, but he said to me he'd got a brand new 10 plate in a different colour with 100 miles on it and it's the same price, so for me it was a no brainer.

I drive 20,000 miles a year in one, albeit a van, never had an issue with the comfort levels.

As for the bolt on suggestions, there's nothing worse than a sheep in wolf's clothing.

I find the state of ones car, reflects on its owner.

So if someone drives a rattling old banger which is falling apart, then they are obviously failures in life.

Where as somebody who Has a nice car, and modifys it properly, without the ridiculous part parts and over-extravagant wheels. Then they've obviously done well and like to show that expect off.

ALSO, modifying a car, makes a car yours, and "not just another corsa". Gives it a unique identity.

I don't really agree, but I would accept that people driving round in 1.2 Corsas with VXR body kits and stupid exhaust systems certainly do make a statement. They are morons.

You can get quiet exhausts, I'm just saying, cars look crap when they have a 1/2 inch exhaust running out the back, looks like a Maccy's straw.

That part is complete bollocks,i've never spent more than £1000 on a car because i have better things to spend my money on like travelling the world for example.Just because you don't make a lot of money does not make you a failure in life, some people have other priorities and as long as you live your life to a good moral standing, that is not failure.
