The Megane isn't prettier at all.

I think me, and most people would agree there!

I wouldn't say Vauxhall are arrogant as they have nothing of any worth to be arrogant about.

Not really interested in what you, or indeed 'most people' would prefer, it's my £10,000.

Oh so we have a budget now..... leave it with me.

(just for the record, if both the Scirocco and the Megane were on offer, you'd definitely take the Renault? or was you refering to the more sportier one?)

I wouldn't buy the VW, I've only seen women driving them.

Incidentally, the Astras I'm looking at are 3 door, 1.9 150BHP turbo diesels with a 0 - 60 of 8.3 seconds, and I can pick up a leather interior Design model on a 58 plate with 30,000 milies on it for £8k.

But with the Astra, the new shape is out, so you already have an old shape before you even start.

But needless to say, the new shape Astra is hideous.

The new shape only seems available in 4 door, the 2 door is still the old shape. The new (4 door) Astra is indeed almost VW-like in it's blandness on the outside, but inside it's superb. That said, I want a 2 door . . .

They're nice cars, was looking at them before I decided to get the Leon, but needless to say, when you get one, you must lower it.

But needless to say, for £10k you get a much nicer car, maybe with double the mileage (60k) but that on a diesel isn't much, and as you've said yourself, you don't do many miles.

Anything else that's "needless to say", despite the fact that you keep on saying stuff?

There's no way I'd buy a car with 60k on the clock. Maximum would be 40k, and that's an absolute maximum. 60k is already due a cambelt change, and is already halfway to the scrapyard.

Can people not have an opinion?

You seem to disagree with everything, then go in a hissy fit. Stop being a bitch and man up and mature. Christ sake. I expect this from an 8 year old, not a 26 year old.

    Needless to say.....

I had an Astra 1.9 TDCI SRI. Now I have a 2.0 Ford Focus Zetec S. I would never go back to a Vauxhall again. Everything about it is just better.

I reckon I'll pick one of these up in a couple of years when I grow tired of my Focus. I love 'em...

Of course you're entitled to an opinion, I just found your repeated use of "needles to say" quite amusing, that's all :shrug

I sometimes also find your 'opinion' quite condescending and snobbish - referring to Vauxhalls as being "Vile and Cheap" for example - and you also seem to think you're some kind of authority on car ownership, telling people what they should, shouldn't and must do with their money and their cars.

According to a page I've just found, the Zetec S does 128mph, and 0-62 in 9.2.

The Astra did 120mph and 0-62 in 10?

No, it does 129mph and 0-62 in 8.3.

I'd still nail it in mine though. :whistle
