I think we should make this thread a sticky so that we don't have millions and millions of threads talking about possible signings, rumours, selling of players just keep it in one thread.

Liverpool are weighing up an £8m swoop for Valencia's 21-year-old Argentine midfielder Ever Banega, who has been likened to former Reds favourite Xabi Alonso.

The Anfield side are set to offload £20m signing Alberto Aquilani, who has failed to make an impact. Liverpool are bracing themselves for a huge loss on the midfielder.

I doubt we'll sell Aquilani in truth. Rafa knows money is short and making a huge loss on him would be a waste, as a replacement would cost more. I actually think the lad will be flying next season, he's not involved in Italys world cup squad, which gives him all summer to get fit and strengthen up a bit.

It would seem illogical to sell him, who would we replace him with? The player that is mentioned above for £8 million who is also unproven like Aquilani? I think he will do well next season, make or break time. No excuses, he's had all summer to get himself ready and get the injuries out of the way.

I'm sure I read somewhere that Acquilani's fee was determined by games he played for Liverpool, how successul the club was etc. Think we had to pay £5m up front, but if we get that back, I don't think we've made a loss on AA.

Yeah Juve and Fiorentina are rumoured to be in for Aquilani for 10m and 8m respectively. It does look like he could possibly on the transfer list as silly as that would seem. Giving him a shot next season would be the best thing though obviously, if at least only to bump his value. City and Spurs have been linked with Benayoun.

Players linked with Liverpool recently off the top of my dome are... Rafael van der Vaart, Lazio left back koklarov, Feyenoord 'wonder kid' Geoginio Wijnaldum, and a while back, Arda Turan.

Rafa had meeting on Monday, were a valuation of each player was handed in to the CEO, Rafa wants to stay; he wants any sales from any players (high or low) value to be reinvested back into the first team, with no money being held back, with this agreement placed in writing, which the CEO won't give, rumours are a Comp package was offered, which Rafa refused. Another meeting is expected Friday.

"The Goblin" (MO'N) is said to be lined-up (target) because he'll cost nothing in comp if he leave Villa.

Torres & Gerrard wants to know if a buy will be found before the start of the New season, they are both unhappy with the present owners & the stagnation of LFC with no investment forth coming they may take up offers, Mascha as delayed sign an extension to a new contact, because for the same reason.

The only reason Liverpool will sell Aquilani is because they can't afford to pay the 7m which need to paid on the 30 June, they also need to pay some money to Portsmouth in the summer, so we owe around 11 -15m before we buy any new first team players, its a very sad situation that we can't afford to pay 7m to Roma.

This will be the beginning of the fire sale, if Aquilani leaves.

It's a horrible situation, their doesn't appear to be any light at the end of the tunnel and it's going to get worse before it gets better. However Their is a rumour of a Chinese gaming company looking into buying us, don't know whether thats a good thing or a bad thing, but that's all it is, a rumour, hopefully they will be better than what the current owners are doing to the club if they were to buy the club.

I don't think we'll sell Aquilani, i believe Rafa will give him another season to prove himself, and if he becomes a decent player the gamble has paid off, but if not, it could build up a good price for him. This season has just been touch and go with him, he has been injured and not got enough games under his belt to get his performances up. It's the same as Alonso, had one good season then went downhill after that. For the money we paid for him, i think it would be worth giving him another season too prove himself at least.

Van Der Vaart would be an ok addition to our squad, i believe he would do well for us. Thats one signing i would like to see.

How can we talk about signings, when we don't know who will be our manager or owner at the start of the season?

While H&G are still here, and looking to sell the club,no way will we be given money to spend.Hell!...they don't give us any money anyway!

Or sell the players, then the manager will walk away?:hmmm

Like i've said before, the state of the club on the field doesn't matter anymore(if it ever did) to H&G,they are on their way out.

Then they give Rafa grounds for "constructive dismal" remember Newcastle KK? you could say Rafa already as grounds over Alonso, which is why hes wants everything in writing.

I think it will be an interesting summer, and i am expecting new owners.I think it could take us past the summer transfer window to get all of this sorted though.Another transfer window with no investment.

I highly doubt you will get Banega. Valencia bought him for 20 million and after the season he has had I doubt they would they would let him go for anything less than 30 million. That is too much for a midfielder who in all reality has only had a storming 8 months.

Glad to say "The Goblin" will not be coming to Anfield.

So it looks like Rafa may stay afterall, LFC can't afford to pay comp to Rafa & another club.

The transfer market will be pretty grim for us, those yank tw*ts wont invest in a asset they are trying to sell at a already over inflated price. If we hold on to what we have I will be happy.

Aquilani will be fine once he is given a run of games in a position and system that suits him , he certainly needs a teaspoon of concrete to harden the f*ck up but he should start to shine next season.

On transfers well who knows , we dont even know who our manager will be yet , probably a good thing the world cup is on so we dont get 3 full months of speculative BS on who we are trying to sign with three ritz and a coffee cream
