I think in pre season we should use a different formation, i think the one defensive midfielder is far too cautious. We need to throw caution to the wind if it doesn't work out well we can say we attacked and not relied on draw getting us points. We need to be more attacking minded, and just throw everything to the opponent. Like Chelsea, Man City have been doing, playing 4-3-3, obviously we haven't got that privelage, something like what Man Utd 4 ever said could be possibly the way i'd like to go down.
Trust me you do not want to set up your team like ours. We play 3 in the midfield only to stifle the opponents as 2 are in the middle are not good enough. I hope saying playing 1 defensive being cautious was a pisstake. Because you will get ripped apart if you do not play Mascherano or Lucas.
Left sided players with transfer prices between 5-8m in the past were disappointing (Riera and Dossena).
With all the Sunday press, spouting bollocks about Gerrard week in week out, i thought i would post this, it looks Gerard will most defiantly be here at the start of the season. To confirm it was said, see 2hr 10mins 17 sec's on Five Live this afternoon (BBC iplayer)
I know its only rumours but ffs we don't need midfielders ... i want to see us linked with strikers, wingers and left backs. Nothing more nothing less.
Pair the two Javiers (Mascherano and Martinez) together. We've seen when we bought that David Ngoo or whatever his name is, to go with Ngog and Amoo that Rafa seems to like similar sounding names, might be his ploy to fill the squad with them
James Milner has reportedly claimed he would snub advances from both Manchester City and Manchester United in favour of a move to Liverpool. http://www.clickliverpool.com/sport/liverpool-fc/129207-aston-villas-james-milner-would-snub-manchester-city-offer-in-favour-of-liverpool-fc-move.html? Chelsea have made Liverpool midfielders Javier Mascherano and Yossi Benayoun summer transfer targets, according to a report from The Daily Mail. Mascherano has apparently shelved talks on a new deal whilst Benayoun has acknowledged Chelsea's interest. "Ancelotti wants me for next season and now everything depends on Liverpool," he is reported as saying. "Chelsea will have to pay some £6 million but I believe that in the end I'll be moving there." http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2559/rumours/2010/05/24/1939691/chelsea-eye-raid-for-liverpool-duo-yossi-benayoun-javier?
The liverpool section of this site is probably the most depressing on the site.. Before the Americans leave we wont be able to strenghten only replace, very dissapointing.. we were so close last season and to have them dimwits destroy us. I Definately wont be buying the new jersey til there gone anyway and am bracing myself for the worst liverpool summer of my life!
Probably bullshit, he was quoted the other day saying he wished to stay with Liverpool for the rest of his career.
Its the Mail! What more do i need to say, do you really believe a player will put a price on himself? Another thing... yossi worth a lot morethan 6m, the Mail as sold every Liverpool player this year.
The press in england concerning transfer rumours is getting worse than spain's it's getting to the point where you can't trust anything on the back pages (especially the sun) Liverpool will make a lot of signings as despite the financial issues (no matter how deep) the team is in desperate need of a revamp and we can expect to see this revamp being made
I can't see Rafa letting anyone go this season, unless that player forces there way out, Rafa had another meeting on Monday, were it was confirmed hes as no additional funding this year, it was also revealed, If any major players was to leave, theres no guarantee the sales money would be reinvested. So basically were f*cked big time, if any major player leave, Rafa won't have the funding to replace the player of the same quality.
Turkish international Arda Turan is set to quit Galatasaray with Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez the confirmed favourite to land the talented 23-year-old playmaker. Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is also interested, however, the Turkish club do not see Spurs' proposed player-plus-cash offer as value for losing their talismanic captain. The 23-year-old admitted in January that it was his ‘dream’ to play for Liverpool issuing a come-and-get-me plea to the Kop. http://www.sport.co.uk/news/Football/38812/Benitez_confirmed_as_favourite_to_land_Turkish_delight.aspx Liverpool are reportedly considering a move for Manchester City winger Shaun Wright-Phillips. The England international is thought to be surplus to requirements at Eastlands, and Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is ready to bring the 28-year-old to Anfield.http://www.givemefootball.com/premier-league/liverpool-plan-shock-swoop-on-manchester-city--%281%29
