Just got back from Australia- life changing trip. Promised myself I'll try to move out there before EOY.

Sydney (all around), Airlie Beach/Whitsundays, Gold Coast & Byron Bay.

Gold Coast is one of my favourite places ever. The pace and way of life there was just amazing and so appealing to me. The only place I didn't really like was Byron Bay, as it was full of boring European hippies, I much preferred the company of aussies.

You think people travel 17,000kms and the only thing they can do when they get here is sit on a beach? You need to do some research..

My only experience with NSW is Sydney airport and Nyngan (probably spelt wrong as it has been 10 years  ) I was based in Perth (boring when you are in your early 20s but would much prefer it now) but spent quite a bit of time in Brisbane which was a nice city.

For me, I do have family out there, but also everyone I've known to go out there has raved about it.

It's not an enlightening cultural experience, but the way of life out there is just blissful, and I personally felt instantly at home because they are so similar to the British. I have lived in Canada and America before, and the Aussies are just so much closer to us.

Whitehaven Beach is honestly the most beautiful place I've ever seen in my life. Being down at Sydney Harbour for sunset is pretty special. Then there's the wildlife you can see, the most amazing snorkelling tours or even crocodile experiences.

I wanted to see it before I considered moving there really, and now I've been, I know I want to experience living out there. The isolation of it means I'll likely move back to the UK at some point, but the people and the lifestyle out there is just brilliant.

    Nice.
The one thing I love about the Aussies is they don't take themselves too seriously, unless it's to do with sport, and then they take no prisoners. The landscape is extraordinary, you can be in parts of Victoria where you'd be mistaken for being in the UK, then two hours later your're in the red desert, New South Wales and South Australia has some unbelievable outback and the Northern territories has history of man walking this part of the world 47,000 years ago. And then there's Tasmania, easily my favourite part of the country. Teeming with wildlife, the people here take themselves even less seriously than the mainlanders and I would tell anyone and everyone that they must visit this gorgeous island at least once in their lives.

Cheaper than staying in Florence. At least I can do day trips to Florence, Spezis, Livorno, Genoa and Cinque Terre. Rome is doable despite it being 3hrs away by train.

Why just the one night? Dublin needs at least three days to do it justice. Kilmainham gaol is a must for a few hours..

There for work. Considered an extra day but can't stretch it. Will test the water and return.

Feel free to send any suggestions for bars!

Flying to Okinawa in about 9 hours. Okinawa is a tropical Japanese island about a 3hr flight from the mainland. The weather forecast for the week I am there...... grey and cloudy

A quick Google search will send you to Templebar but I tended to avoid that after experiencing it for a pint, it's a bit like Mathew Street in Liverpool but without the good music and a lot more vomit.

Had the worst pint of Guinness ever at the Guinness Storehouse so avoid that. If there's Supermac's nearby for food then that's amazing.
