We are off to near Cardigan Bay in Wales for a week with the dogs next Friday - not quite as glamorous as Fiji and Sydney but should be nice and relaxing :)

Yeah, there's a lot of great places to visit that will just be 'up the road', but you'll realise that there are so many fantastic places to visit without leaving the island. We've been here since 2018 and consider ourselves lucky to have done what we've done but there's still loads left. And that's if you just like wine..

It missed us but there was a spectacular rainbow, which would have been effective for the wedding party photographer next door..

had a wonderful time in Bellagio and Amsterdam earlier that week. Amsterdam was very cool and we were at peak time for all the tulip gardens so it was beautiful.

Lake Como area was perfect in early May. Not too crowded like Italy is at other points and the weather was very nice. We hit up all the towns and gardens and did a private boat tour of the lake amongst other things. Was a very peaceful and relaxing location and we had a great apartment with full lake views and only a ten minutes walk into the town

I did a Disney cruise when I was 11 which was fun as a kid and a good first cruise for children. I’ve done several Royal Caribbean ones but not since COVID. I’ve always had decent rooms and a nice time despite all the trolls on the ship.

Watch those drunken Aussies, and don't have premarital sex in any of the tourist towns, you'll get locked up..

Helsinki was a great city. Brilliant to visit in the summer because of the long hours of daylight. It is pricey, especially for beer which was 10 euros for 500ml in pubs, but it was well worth a visit. Lots to do and see and just a very nice city to be in.

Got a short break to Dublin at the start of June next.

Agreed. Helsinki was a lovely city to visit. Overdue a return to Finland.

I've booked a little villa in Palm Springs in the California desert for a month. It's gonna be hot as all hell but I've got my own pool. Should be a nice change of scenery.

    The Channel islands.
Just booked to go back 'home' next month. I leave Melbourne on the 18th of July and arrive in Guernsey about 35 hours later via Shanghai and Gatwick. Flying to Alderney on the 23rd then back to Guernsey on the 16th August before heading back to Australia on the 23rd August. Really looking forward to seeing my grandkids and having some quality time with all the family..

Officially landed in Sydney. Moving over here by myself was a very tough choice and saying goodbye to family was one of the toughest things I have ever done, but now I'm here I'm pretty excited!

Time to plan some trips to New Zealand and pacific islands.

Welcome to down under mate. There’s a lot of Australia to see as well as the surrounding islands. You can get the train to the Blue Mountains for a start and then there’s the coast north of Sydney that’s not too shabby. And have I mentioned Tasmania before? My God, it is the most incredible place on this (not flat) Earth.

    Enjoy..

Never thought I would say this, but we’ve booked a coach holiday to the Lochs and Glens. We go end of January. It’s going to be freezing but looking forward to seeing somewhere I’ve never been. Lovely hotel overlooking the Loch and day trips to Fort William and Oban and a cruise on Loch Lomand

Enjoy the January daylight hours. The sun rises at ten past ten and sets at 11:15. Isn’t there a steam train ride you can get at Fort William? I’m sure it was on my father in-laws bucket list..
