I love Gerrard more than anyone, but I'm afraid he doesn't have a stitch on Maradona, no current player does, he was and always will be, miles out in a league of his own. Absolute magical player.
Well said grandad Gerrard is the third best player in the world, the way he wins games for Liverpool and sometimes England by him self is magic.
If I've said that Gerrard is a better player than Maradona then show me that quote? If not then do us all a favour and put a sock in it, you are sounding like an idiot.
Complete doesn't mean better. Gerrard IS more complete than Maradona, doesn't mean he's better, because he isn't. Maradona is the best player that's ever stepped foot on a football pitch. But still, you wouldn't see him playing RB one game, Left wing another, CM a few weeks later, second striker, etc...Gerrard can do a job anywhere on the field, so he is a bit more complete/all-round?
You beat me to it. King Kenny was the greatest player ever to don the Liverpool shirt, but he still wasn't the 'complete/all round' player that Gerrard is. Skill wise Maradona was in a class of his own, ten Maradona's would get beaten every time by ten Gerrard's though.
No they wouldn't! All this nonsense about Gerrard being a complete player is clouding your judgement. The Maradonas would run rings around the Gerrards and not let him have the ball. The team of Gerrards would lose everytime. Maradona pretty much single-handedly won the World Cup in 1986. Gerrard is a very good player, but I don't remember him achieving anything like that.
Right, he could probably paint the shed faster than Maradona, and if the rumours are true he could probably knit you a nice cardy much faster than Maradona ever could. But if you think Fletcher was better than Maradona at anything involving a football you are off yer friggin' trolly chum. It's a waste of time this really isn't it? Any clown can see that Gerrard's defensive game is a hundred times better than Maradona's. As brilliant as Maradona would be in attack he'd be a liability trying to defend. I see, so that's how you measure true greatness, George Best must have been pretty poor too based on that kind of silly reasoning.
