Probably unlikely we'll be in a position to buy him permanently, but I think it's the ideal place for him to come to and it'll be a good indication of whether he's good enough to make that step up. In the last few years Marc Guehi, Conor Gallagher, Joe Rodon, Morgan Gibbs-White, Freddie Woodman, Oli McBurnie, Dan James, Connor Roberts and Rhian Brewster have all been able to use as a step up to either play in the Premier League, or to earn a move to a Premier League club for good money. We'll be playing with a back three, and I imagine he'll be seen as a starter once he settles in as Martin's priority in selecting those three centre-backs is there ability to play the ball out from the back and I think he's going to be better than Latibeaudiere & Cabango in that area. He should get plenty of game time to show whether he's good enough or not, and he'll be compared to players who've made that step up (Guehi, Wilmot) and those that didn't (WIlmot, Carter-Vickers).
Sepp has actually played primarily at RB for them I think he's certainly good enough on the ball to play there.
16 loan deals concluded, (echo) Sepp is probably the only one I would think has a chance of breaking through. Sepp van den Berg (Preston North End) Arguably the biggest success of Liverpool's loanees having returned to Championship side Preston, where he spent the second half of last season. Operating at centre-back or right wing-back, the 20-year-old featured in all bar one game and played against the Reds in the Carabao Cup in October. Nat Phillips (Bournemouth) Switched to the South Coast in January after two appearances for Liverpool's first team earlier in the campaign and was a regular as he helped the Cherries to second place in the Championship and promotion back to the Premier League. Bournemouth have been told they must cough up around £15m to make the deal permanent, with a number of other clubs interested. Neco Williams (Fulham) Proved a triumph under Marco Silva after moving on deadline day to Craven Cottage, with Fulham winning the Championship. Had made eight appearances for Liverpool during the first half of the campaign, and is expected to attract plenty of transfer attention this summer. Rhys Williams (Swansea City) The center-back had a tough time in South Wales and admits he was affected when suffering racist abuse early on in his stint during a Championship game at Luton Town. After only seven appearances he returned in January to Liverpool, and made the first-team bench twice late on in the campaign. Leighton Clarkson (Blackburn Rovers) Another to come back to Liverpool in January, he made only seven appearances in the Championship but rediscovered form during a strong second half to the season with the Reds' under-23 side. Sheyi Ojo (Millwall) Ojo will leave Liverpool when his contract expires in the summer, after a seventh and final loan move. The 24-year-old left winger, who scored in the mini-derby win in Premier League 2 against Everton in August before departing on deadline day, was a regular in the Championship until injury in January, after which he played just 23 minutes. “I wish him all the best,” said Millwall manager Gary Rowett when asked about a summer move for Ojo. "I don't think it's something that we'll be able to pursue." Ben Davies (Sheffield United) The 26-year-old has become something of a forgotten man having not got further than being named on the bench eight times last season. He was a regular in the Championship until injury before Christmas, and on his return found it difficult to dislodge former Liverpool youngster Jack Robinson. He will be available for transfer this summer, although money issues make a return to Bramall Lane unlikely. Jake Cain (Newport County) The 20-year-old midfielder benefitted from a change of manager at the League Two club with new boss James Rowberry making him a regular having played just 62 minutes before mid-October. Appearances, though, became rare during the last two months of the season - not helped by a rib injury - as Newport slipped from fourth to a disappointing 11th. Cain finished with 28 outings. Paul Glatzel (Tranmere Rovers) A season of frustration for Glatzel that was regularly hampered by injury before being ended prematurely by hamstring issues in March. He appeared in the first five League Two games of the campaign but never in his favoured position as striker, and was then restricted to EFL Trophy outings for the best part of two months. The 21-year-old was belatedly given opportunities up front and ended with six goals and five assists. Only one Tranmere player had more goal contributions in the campaign and Glatzel won an accolade for the most man-of-the-match performances, despite making only 21 appearances. Ben Woodburn (Hearts) Woodburn, another who will leave on a free this summer, featured regularly throughout the season in the Scottish Premiership in helping the Edinburgh side finish third and qualify for the Europa League play-off round. While his versatility was underlined by starring as centre forward, on both wings and in two midfield roles, starts were more difficult to come by in the closing months and he was an unused substitute in the Scottish Cup final defeat to Rangers. Hearts want to offer Woodburn a permanent deal, with the player open to making the move. Adam Lewis (Livingston) The 22-year-old played in five different positions and was, according to Livingston boss David Martindale, coming into form when his campaign was disrupted by a fractured metatarsal suffered in late September. Lewis subsequently returned to Liverpool for treatment before going back to the Scottish Premiership side, where he featured in five of the final eight games. Luis Longstaff (Queen’s Park) The 20-year-old forward featured in all bar three regular Scottish League One season games for Queen's Park, but remained on the bench throughout the play-offs as they gained promotion. Only 11 of his 31 appearances were as a starter, with Longstaff providing four goals and three assists. Jakub Ojrzynski (Caernarfon Town) Ojrzynski, a 19-year-old goalkeeper who made the bench for Liverpool's first team at Sheffield United last season, started all bar four games for the Cymru Premier side and helped them finish fourth and then win a play-off to qualify for the Scottish Challenge Cup. Vitezslav Jaros (Notts County) Jaros, who played twice last term for Liverpool in the EFL Trophy, spent between March and November last year on loan in Ireland with St Patrick's Athletic, where he was named player of the season and helped them finish second and win the FAI Cup final against Bohemians. He then spent the second half of this season on loan at National League side Notts County and was a regular until the final few games when the Magpies lost during the play-offs. Liam Hughes (Stalybridge Celtic) The 20-year-old Northern Irish goalkeeper, who has twice been on the bench for the first team, joined Northern Premier League side Stalybridge Celtic at the start of January until the end of the season and made 10 appearances Anderson Arroyo (Mirandes) The 22-year-old centre-back was a regular in Spain's La Liga 2 during his fifth loan spell in less than four years at Liverpool, having arrived in January 2018.

Owen Beck, who's done very well at Dundee, recalled to give LB cover for the next while. Not sure if he may go back out of Robertson gets fit by the end of the window.
I think he might likely stay if Tsimikas is out for the season. I know we have Gomez as cover, but we need to look at protecting TAA too. It'd be a disaster if Robertson and TAA get injured at the same time.
I think Klopp rates Conor Bradley highly enough to have him near the rotation too, but that's a fair shout.
Yeah, he had one last season & by all accounts with nothing near the showings Beck's been putting in, but then again he's a couple of years younger & needs more seasoning. As it is, he looked nowhere near ready for a more prominent role in the squad from what we've seen so far, neither did Scanlon, so bringing a lad back a couple of years ahead in his development makes sense.
He's probably too good for that level but good to get a loan to get his confidence flowing. See if the manager sees a future for him because don't feel like Klopp is fond of him tbh.
