Tbh I didn't even see it. It's the referee's decision to stop the play. He didn't do it. Bad luck for Denmark yes but hey, that's football. England would have scored anyway sometimes later then
I don't think we can say with absolute certainty that England would have scored if the penalty wasn't awarded. There were only 17 minutes left, and Denmark were looking pretty solid in terms of defensive shape even if they weren't offering anything going forward. Had the penalty not been awarded, and the injury still occured then the odds of England scoring increase significantly, but Denmark are in a position to put ten men behind the ball and hold out for penalties. Teams have certainly held out for a lot longer just going out not to concede.
Of course I can't say with absolute certainty that England would've scored anyway otherwise I would've made already a fortune. Let me say instead that I had the feeling that they would've scored one in the remaining minutes if the penalty wasn't awarded. Anyway, I think there's no doubt that the win is overall deserved and that England is a worthy participant in the final (the same for Italy, of course)
Such a weird take. Being mortally offended on behalf of a player who probably doesn’t feel humiliated at all. It was a purely tactical decision and Grealish will just be chuffed to have reached the final with the team.
Because the football manager shouldn’t hurt people’s feelings apparently. Or at least the feelings you have indignantly assumed they have in your own mind.
Lampard's goal would have made it 2-1 before half-time. Not too far ahead! Our record against Italy is not great, they usually win, but I think we have a great chance this time.
Swings and roundabouts we had a stonewall penalty denied and Denmark’s goal shouldn’t have stood (some thing to do with the wall)
Felt sorry for Kasper his performance deserved being on the winning side. He was a man possessed in goal.
