IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR ALL FANS Liverpoolfc.tv 31 July 2008 We have received information from AFC Sunderland that the ticket allocation for our fixture on the opening day of the season has been set at 2361 - a reduction in excess of 600 tickets to the normal allocation available to visiting supporters. This decision has been enforced by the Local Licensing Authority based on reports from the Football Authorities of persistent standing by Liverpool Football Club supporters at away FA Premier League fixtures. Both AFC Sunderland and Liverpool FC are powerless to reverse this decision as the ground capacity is set by the Licensing Authority and written into a legal document, (Ground Safety Certificate) Obviously we are disappointed that 600 Liverpool supporters will not be able to see the match but this shows the power the Local Authorities have when they have concerns on safety issues. In order to reduce the possibility of this decision being taken by other Local Authorities we would appeal to all our supporters to refrain from persistent standing both at home and away fixtures.
