Thanks, they actually happen to the best of us fella ,best to just suck it up and move on. I had it in my head that he was cherry picked from Flamengo, but on a quick perusal of Wiki it seems he was only 14 and apparently not a fully grown cherry. I own my embarrassment.

Is it too much to ask ?

  6. First I'm impressed that so many shots of Keita in a Liverpool shirt could be slipped together.

Second, apparently it is too much to ask according to the echo.

Medical done as Liverpool finalise 6-figure new signing
Musialowski has been spoken of in Poland as a generation-defining talent since he was just 13 and has been closely watched by talent spotters from Europe’s biggest clubs in the last three years.

    The Boy looks very promising

Liverpool seal new signing as medical done and paperwork finalised

  9. any wild rumours doing the rounds?

a mate of mine keeps on about a huge deal

the only thing I've seen is that if we move at all it will be quite late in the window based on seeing where the market is.

just about every squad player seems to be rumoured to be leaving too.

Is Thiago a Klopp kind of player?

Melissa Reddy confirming our interest in Thiago but basically saying someone would have to be moved on before we buy him, to free up a squad slot & get us money to pay for the deal. Since Van Dijk that basically means we've got a deal greed but need the finance in mouthpiece land.

No news on a new contract for Gini, and there have been rumours circulating about Koeman wanting him at Barca. Bayern with the CL & that could mean Barca paying for Thiago via the Gini fee & Coutinho CL add on. 2+2 and all that, but...

Losing Gini would be a shame, but with the recent form of Keita post lockdown, and still having Milner & Ox available there wouldn't be huge pressure on Thiago to have to perform immediately, even with his immense quality.

Good news that a mouthpiece has finally confirmed talks with his camp (the media was looking one sided from Bayern and Thiago's side), that Thiago wants to join (wasn't much doubt given all the media but still nice to have it confirmed), saying he's a player the club would love to have under the right circumstances is good too, also that there's too much uncertainty to make concrete declarations about it so no shutting down of the move. I feel like the move is likelier to happen than before she came out with the article.

The concerning thing is her continuing the party line of saying a deal is unlikely unless a midfielder leaves and adding that no midfielders are expected to leave. Even Shaq now looking likely to stay! Would hurt funds a bit if he stays which is obviously a factor despite what she says about it being more about squad harmony than financial reasons. Just obvious given the sell to buy stuff Paul Joyce was saying and pulling out of a Werner deal.

Maybe it'd take someone else moving for him so we knew we wouldn't be able to get him signed up on a free in just 4 months, surely someone will try and get him if we decide not to sign him in this window. Would be a mare if Gini was alowed to run down his contract and we never scored the open goal of Thiago to replace him.

Why Liverpool are stalling over Thiago Alcantara transfer

I'd expect Grujic and Wilson to be sold which will probably help fund the move. Liverpool have always said if there are opportunities that come along to help with fleshing out the squad, they'll go for it, and this is a perfect opportunity to get a world class player in who can help keep the midfield one of the best around, over the next four years.

  14. put it like this; would you see mkhitaryan as a klopp type player? would you have seen wijnaldum as one?

Klopp likes talented players. If they are willing to work in the team shape they are a klopp player.

Ozil now, no way, he just doesn't do the work.

Honeslty when we bought wijnaldum was was wondering why he wanted a no 10 played as a left winger by newcastle but then got educated pretty quick on wijnaludms real history and what klopp wanted.

If thiago is wanted he will be tried for, if not and we can't afford it no big deal right now. IMO.

If wijnaldum wants to go in 12 months we have 2 or 3 players to play in the meantime.

  18. nah, 4 year deal tagged on for "credibility" actually blows it wide open.

its the ideal story to fill pages and get clicks as if it never happens you can point to our money issues and if it does you can say you were right.

Would be a decent squad depth signing for Liverpool for sure.

Liverpool fans will be hoping to avoid any injuries again this year. If one of their big players is out long term they don't have high level cover in the squad.

Assumed the links to Kabak were agent nonsense, really hope that's the case now.
