We definitely do. Can't believe the Colo situation to be honest. If he does go, that's two centre halfs we're going to need.
I'd put defenders higher than a striker, but if we can't get som e finishing from Papiss we'll come seriously unstuck. You can't blame foreigners with no affinity with Tyneside to look much further than pound signs, but if Remi signs for qpr, he'll be a championship player for sure next season. We've got Cabaye and Ben Afa coming back. Remi hasn't had a great season has he?
Look like the Remy deal might fall through courtesy of Arry http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2262358/Loic-Remy-join-QPR-Newcastle-deal-hijacked.html Toon blow as QPR hijack £8m Remy switch with M'Vila also set to join Redknapp revolution
Anybody who hawks himself around to the highest bidder shouldn't be on our radar. We've had players like that before, who have NEVER helped the side. But QPR know all about this exact situation. It's true that we have to pay talented players good wages but this lad heart doesn't look in it. I'd tear up his job offer and keep looking
Quite right, Remy is clearly not the type of player we should be after. To be honest we have enough up front to cause problems for a lot of teams, it's the rising damp from the back four which is the problem. Centre halves are a necessity in this window.
I think we have to act decisively this transfer window to save our season from total disaster. They've called it right with Remi - 14 appearances, 1 goal?? Is that the stats for a decent striker? No idea if these scare stories about just ripping up Coloccini's contract and letting him toddle home to Argy land. That doesn't sound exactly business-like. But whatever we need either one or two proper centre backs like now and if Ashley really wants to guarantee saving his investment, a left winger to replace the worn out Gutierrez.
Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa: Newcastle agree fee for Montpellier defender Newcastle United are set to confirm the signing of Montpellier defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa early next week. The two clubs have agreed a fee, thought to be £6.7m, for the 23-year-old France international. He will be Newcastle's second signing of the transfer window after France right-back Mathieu Debuchy. Manager Alan Pardew has moved to strengthen his defence after conceding 15 goals in five league games and winning only three of their last 18. The Newcastle boss is also facing a fight to keep hold of his captain Fabricio Coloccini after the central defender asked to leave the club. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21106227 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Don't know much about him but looks like we're eventually bringing in a centre half. That is of course subject to QPR not hijacking another of our targets.
Jesus, Joey Barton must be hated over in France, if they are all coming to Newcastle to play football....
