One of those games I'll be talking about in 50 years. Hard to remember such an abject defensive performance and such a dereliction of duty (on a football field) that Luiz committed, his performance was scandalously selfish, trying to rectify everything single-handedly but completely abdicating his responsibility to lead the team and control the defence. Marcelo shouldn't escape either, horrendous performance, Maicon too.

Fred's been generally terrible but I felt it a tad harsh that the crowd was scapegoating him when they were losing 0-6 and the defence was shambolic.

The selection was wrong, the squad had clear holes with players left who should have gone and Scolari failed to react when it was obvious that his Plan A team in earlier rounds was totally blunt.

I still can't believe this actually happened. People will be talking about this for years. Decades. And we watched it live. It's crazy when you think about it.

To quote Scolari before the Colombia game "Do we have one hand on the Cup? Yes."

For that game alone all the fault lies with the players. No manger can do anything about top-level players putting in performances like that. Brazil's back four have all won the Champions League, but they played like school boys.

Scolari needs to take the blame for being too stubborn to change, even though Brazil struggled and never convinced in more or less all of their games.

I think Brazil looked shaky defensively.

Brazil were Neymarless, Germany were ruthless................

There wasn't much between them early on, just Germany didn't defend shambolically for a period that cost them the game. To let a player sidefoot a cross in from a quite central position just outside the six yard box while there were about 4-6 Brazilians on the near post is appalling defending.

Once it started falling apart, it really fell apart. I think Scolari did get it badly wrong, but it was almost blitzkrieg and all over before he could do anything about it

Scolari had his whole set-up centred around Neymar, just like Uruguay had it around Suarez and Portugal around Ronaldo. All 3 made the same mistake to not have a plan B. All 3 sides still have plenty of other good players, but fell apart when their star player dropped out.

Thiago Silva was a bigger loss than Neymar imo

I don't think there is no possible way you could avoid finding out this result, you'd have to watch it straight away when you got out of bed, keeping phones turned off, and the tv news/radio out of your mind.

When I woke up at 2am, I turned my alarm off and realised I had a notification and I saw the result straight away. And I think it would have been tough for me to avoid the result as I deliver newspapers so it was in my face all morning.

Shocked, didn't think It would have been that easy for Germany to be honest, I thought the score I predicted 2.1 in my bet sweepstake was probably a good shout.

I think Brazil will be seeking a lot of money to see if they can buy a buy out clause to not play that last game

I saw all the goals, and the Brazil players might aswell of not been there, Germany could have walked in every goal that they scored.

Just speaking to my brother-in-law in Manaus, he said no complaints - they knew from the first game they were not good enough and were not strong enough all over the park. He said everyone is just shell shocked as to the extent of their undoing, but not the actual result (not the people who actually know what they are on about - which most don't of course, despite their passion).

    Fair enough.

Yeah, last night was the biggest shock, not because of the score line, but because of the performance!

Spain played OK, but just kept getting caught. They were second best, but not by 5-1 and some of the dutch goals (Especially the RVP header) were just sublime!

Last night, I thought 7-1 flattered Brazil. It could have been double figures, but Germany eased up in the second half. Brazil actually looked completely lost out there, like a park football team, dazzled by playing against Barcelona.

Their attitude was appalling and I think they really let the fans down. I just didn’t feel that with Spain

God almighty we knew Brazil were bad but THAT bad !? That was like a pub team playing Real Madrid.
Brazil are sh#t with Neymar and they are sh#t without him. An utterly clueless, gutless, hopeless performance. Thank God I watched it in the UK and not in Germany. We were actually laughing out loud at Brazil in the pub, they were a bad joke, a disaster long overdue, quite possibly the worst Brazilian team I've ever seen.

I think with the Holland Spain game, some of the goals were pretty much unsavable and nothing they could have done about it. They were caught out and punished, but Germany against Brazil, the Brazillians looked like a pub team with virtually no idea how to play football.

The actual result flatters them if you personally ask me because I think the Germans could have easily went for more, but there you go. I knew that this Brazillian squad was weak and poor, but I certainly didn't think they were this weak, I know they struggled to get through the whole of the tournament and it looked from a lot of perspectives this was a Germany win but not by the margin it was.

It'll take the Brazillains a long time to get this out of there system and a good length of time to get back up to the level they were once were.

I've done a few World Cups in my time thanks to the wonders of TV France was mental in 98 when they demolished Brazil in the final and I didn't think I would see such a rout of the Brazilians again. Watching the news images of places like Berlin and other German cities the Germans just seemed to be taking it as an everyday occurrence.
Was I the only one thinking that the referee had blown the whistle for something as the Germans didn't really celebrate the goals after it went 2-0 up?...Did they just sense this was gonna be a piece of cake and take the pedal off the throttle slightly?....

    Rumbled..
